Does windows update automatically update my motherboard drivers or do i have to go elsewhere?

You should update manually. Chances are slim that Windows update will find them.

If you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver

if you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver
If you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it.

If you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver

If you have windows 7 and windows 8, your computer must be running in VGA driver by default, as no driver is present, run windows update,
it will install all the required updates automatically .
Or you can go to device manager in system under control panel,
and manually update driver searching from internet.

Download needed for driver for samsung 16x dl dvd /-rw w/lightscribe


You usually don't need a driver for dvd rom drive, the controller is right on the device and if you can't see the dvd rom drive in my computer or device manager check if the jumper configuration is correct and if your power cable is properly seated as well as the data cable on you dvd drive and your motherboard.

usually the driver.. if needed comes with as part of windows... check windows update website and do a manual update search (instead of automatic)...

check the hardware manufacturer website for an updated driver.
