Hi Vicious V,

Your laptop is telling you that it does not detect a device that it can use to boot the necessary Operating System such as Windows. Simply stated, this would mean that your hard drive is defective and can no longer be sensed by the laptop. The Operating System is contained inside the laptop. The solution would be to replace the defective hard drive and/or re-install Windows and everything else.

Most laptops originally came with recovery CDs. Pls try using them and verify if you only need to re-install the OS or if indeed a new hard drive is required.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. May I look forward to your post back how things turned up? Or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hrmm be nice huh, lets see, First you have to rip it all apart, kidding =)
I will assume you have been using this laptop prior to this happening.

Your computer is telling you it cannot find anything to start loading Windows etc
This is normally on your hard drive. If your hard drive fails or the system cannot find it, then it will give this message.
You can also use the CDrom to boot, but this is what you would use if there was a new hard drive without Windows installed.

This page will show you and give you full instructions on how to remove the hard drive. After you find it, do not remove it all the way, just slide it out an inch or so and then just slide it back in and put the screw back in.

Turn the laptop back on and see if that fixes the problem, sometimes they just need to be reseated.

Post bak your results and if it is still doing nothing we can try more things.

I just bought a Dell latitude model number PP01L. When i plug the power cord into the AC adapter the light on it turns on. but when i plug in the adapter part into the laptop the light turns off and the...

Try it with all devices disconnected from the laptop. Sometimes defective USB devices will cause this. Then try it with no battery. This will isolate the problem for you. If it still happens with no battery or other devices, then the problem is either in the adapter or the laptop. If you bought the laptop new, then contact Dell tech support for help. If not, try a local shop. They should be able to connect another adapter to check the problem.

Primary hard disk drive 0 not found no bootable

Your hard disk is disconnected, or not configured correctly in the CMOS. Go to the BIOS and be sure that the computer recognizes the hard disk. If doesnt happens, check the connectors, and if it doesnt fix your problem, you need a new hard drive.

Well yes and no. Yes you can uninstall the software but then you will not have any wireless connection. Unless you are going to replace it with something else.

Keyboard

This is a rather old question, but the solution might still be helpful to other readers.

I suggest you call Tech Support at Dell...

Several years ago, I worked on many Dell CPx 500 models in my work place. There was an issue that always involved a series of 4 or 5 keys (they were always the same keys) that would quit working and we had attempted to purchase new keyboards to fix the issue. It turned out, the real solution was to replace the 'motherboard' of the Latitude notebook!

Dell had knowledge about the keyboard/motherboard issue that we didn't know.
