Pls verify that:
1. in your Control Panel/Internet Options/Properties/Connection tab/LAN Settings button, the "Automatically detest settings" is checked and that both "Use automatic....." & "Use a proxy...." are both unchecked;
2. in your Control Panel/Internet Options/Properties/Advanced tab, both "Use HTTP1.1" & "Use HTTP1.1 through..." are both checked;
3. in your Control Panel/Network Connections/Wireless Network, right click & click on Properties, highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties button, both the "Obtain an IP..." & "Obtain DNS..." are ticked.

Additionally, pls type "cmd" in Start/Run. In the next window type "ipconfig /flushdns". To verify if your router is assigning to your PC IP numbers, you can type "ipconfig /all" and numbers should show in your WiFi networking. Just pls verify that the Default Gateway is and that your PC's assigned IP address is 192.168.0.X (where X is a number between 2 and 254).

You can also verify if your PC can indeed connect to the router by typing ping and numbers should show.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My laptop and my iphone indicate that my wireless-g broadband router is putting out a wireless signal; but neither accessory works on the network, even though the bars are entirely full on the devices.

The bars on your laptop or iPhone means that you are connected to the router! Not necessarily to internet. Your internet depends on ISP Internet service provider and modem which connected to your router. To check if you have active internet connection connect your laptop directly to modem provided by your ISP with ethernet cable and try to open a internet browser IE or Safari or Chrome or Firefox and open a webpage! If you are able to connect internet by this mean you have internet connection active. Now disconnect your lap top from modem and connect modem to your Linksys router using WAN port of LINKSYS! Its good to power off and power on (power cycle) once on modem and router to make it work!
good luck!

My old PC with Windows XP has a wired connection to WGR614 router and internet connection runs at 9Mb. My new Intel i3, Windows 7 laptop with wireless connection runs at 600Kb and invariably has IE...

It sounds like you may have another wireless network or some other wireless device that could be causing interferance.

1. Do you have a cordless telephone or baby monitor in the house... if so, is it near either the router?

2. If you do a search for wireless networks, can you see other networks? If you can, see what channel they are using, you will need to set your wireless channel to at least 5 higher or lower than at least the strongest signals (so if you see another on channel 1, make sure yours is on at least channel 6). This should prevent channel interference on the wireless network.

Hope that this helps!

I cannot access a connection to the Linksys with my Kindle. What do I do now? -- Thank you!

I am going to assume that you have a valid wifi signal that is working with other systems in your house.

Your router will broadcast a signal unique to your system (even in default mode, ie right out of the box)
Take your kindle and go to the settings screen. Select WIFI ON.
It should detect any available networks in your area.
Yours should be at the top (strongest signal) (unless you have a special SSID)
Choose the wireless connection you want, and select connect. The Kindle (as in any device) will try to connect to the chosen wifi. If yours is a password protected WIFI system, you will be prompted for the password.
Once the Kindle negotiates the connection, it is will say connected, or it will display the fault.
We can deal with the fault if there is one...

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

Cannot connect wirelessly

You need to setup cisco page, with your ISP. Your setup name and password must be same for all computers. All computers for this installation must connected by wire at the beginning. And make sure you enable the wireless options on Linksys page. READ HELP form Linksys main page.

I have a WCG200 linksys but can not go onto internet.

from what i have read, your router is broadcasting a signal, and your modem has an open and active internet gateway.

pls make sure that the connection from the modem to the router are correct. the modem should be connected in the port with the label internet. you may have to reset your modem AFTER you have connected the wireless router to allow the router to be assigned an ip. now with the wireless router and broadband modem connected, you can connect to the network and access the internet. pls repost if you hit any snags
GOOD LUCK and PLS rate this post.

Internet page does not fully display

There are two reasons
1) the firewall on Dell preventing it from opening up
2) IE needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled

Try the later

IE closing immediately indicates that one of the files for IE is corrupt or broken or missing. Try and repair the IE file/files that is/are missing/corrupt

Computer stopped receiving wireless router signal

In this order: 1) Turn off all PCs and printers connected to the router. 2) Unplug your router's power cord. 3) Unplug your modem's power cord. 4) Wait for at least 2-3 minutes. 5) Connect the modem's power cord and wait for at least 2-3 minutes. 6) Connect the router's power cord wait for at least 2-3 minutes. 7) Turn on each PC separately and wait until it is completely finished booting before turning on the next PC.

If you still do not have connectivity, read the manual and change the channel of the modem. YOu may be experiencing some RF interference, ie microwave, wireless phone system etc...
