On my Canon MX310, the display says "Waiting for Report". Fax Memory is clear, but the In Use/Memory light stays on.

Try this step ... found it on Canon's website

Issue: ERROR LCD: WAITING FOR REPORT
Solution: Set [AUTO PRINT RX] to ON (MX300 / MX310)

AUTO PRINT RX When [AUTO PRINT RX] is set to [OFF], incoming received faxes will be temporarily stored to memory and transaction reports (TX, RX and Activity) remain in memory. The default setting is [ON], which means incoming received faxes and transaction reports will automatically print. The fax machine will not automatically print a received fax and will store it in memory in the following conditions.
  • Ink is low or has run out
  • The paper size and type is not set correctly
  • Paper has run out
  • The Output Tray is closed
To set AUTO PRINT to ON, please follow these steps.
  1. Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.

  2. Press the <Menu> button. [FAX SETTINGS] is displayed

  3. Press the left or right arrow button to select [RX SETTINGS] , then press <OK> two times.

  4. Press the left arrow to select [ON], then press <OK>.

Note: When AUTO PRINT RX is set ON, a sub-menu will appear to PRINT WHEN NO INK.

  5. At sub-menu PRINT WHEN NO INK, decide if you'd like the machine to continue to print incoming received faxes if ink is low.

CAUTION: When this option is set ON, the fax machine will not monitor the ink level of the ink cartridges. If ink is low or out, received faxes will print with streaks or blank. Furthermore, once the fax is printed, it will be deleted from memory.
    1. To print received faxes when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [ON] and then press <OK>.
    2. To store received faxes in memory when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [OFF] and then press <OK>.

  6. Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby mode.

How can i generate incoming call report ?

To print a report:
  1. Press the [Menu] button on the Control Panel, until Reports is displayed on the top line of the Display Screen. The Phone Book menu item will be displayed on the bottom line.

    wcpe16-menu-but.jpg

  2. Press the right or left arrow button to scroll until the report or list you want to print is displayed on the bottom line.

    • System Data: System data list
    • Scheduled Jobs: Scheduled job information
    • MSG Confirm: Message confirmation
    • Junk Fax List: Junk fax number list
  3. Press [Enter] to print the selected information.
Your machine can print reports containing useful information. The following reports are available:
  • Phonebook List: This list shows all of the numbers currently stored in the machine's memory as Speed Dial and Group Dial numbers. You can print this phonebook list using the [Phonebook] button.
  • Sent Fax Repor: This report shows information of the faxes you recently sent.
  • Received Fax Report: This report shows information of the faxes you recently received.
  • System Data List: This list shows the status of the user-selectable options. You may print this list to confirm your changes after changing any settings.
  • Scheduled Job Information: This list shows the document currently stored for Delayed faxes or Toll Save faxes. The list shows the starting time and type of operation.
  • Message Confirmation: This report shows the fax number, the number of pages, the elapsed time of the job, the communication mode, and the communication results. You can set up your machine to automatically print the message confirmation report after each fax job.
  • Junk Fax Number List: This list shows up to 10 fax numbers specified as the junk fax numbers by using the Junk Fax Setup menu. When the Junk Fax Barrier feature is turned on, incoming faxes from those numbers will be blocked. This feature recognizes the last 6 digits of the fax number set as a remote fax machine’s ID.
  • Multi-Communication Report: This report is printed automatically after sending documents from more than one location.
  • Power Failure Report: This report is printed out automatically when power is restored after a power failure, if any data loss occurs due to the power failure.

NOTE: The lists you have set to automatically print out will not print out when there is no paper loaded or a paper jam has occurred.

Canon jx200 fax machine

The fax automatically turns off Auto Print and stores faxes in memory when either ink or paper is low. The memory will store up to 30 transmissions or 60 pages maximum, so it is important not to leave this too long if you have heavy transmission volume.

Faxes can be retrieved as follows.

If you want to choose only certain faxes to print:
1. Print a list of documents in memory for reference:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Doc Memory List, and again press Start/Copy.
2. Print a document from memory (using the list printed in #1):
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Print Document, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will show the first number in memory (e.g., TX/RX NO. 0001).

Use the arrows to choose the document you want to print, and press Start/Copy. The LCD will then toggle between "1st page only?" and "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * to print only the first page, or # to print all pages.
3. Delete selected document(s) from memory:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Delete Doc, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will show the first number in memory (e.g., TX/RX NO. 0001).

Use the arrows to choose the document you want to delete, and press Start/Copy. [Note - if the arrows do not result in another number displaying, there is only one document in memory.] The LCD will show "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * to delete the document. Continue to select documents until each document you want to delete has been handled.

If you want to print all unprinted documents in memory:
1. If you want to have a list of documents in memory for reference before performing this procedure, to be sure you have them all, follow step 1 from the above procedure for printing selected documents.]
2. Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Print All New RX, and again press Start/Copy.
3. Delete all printed docs from memory:
Immediately after printing all documents, you will have the choice of deleting all documents. The LCD will display "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * delete all, or # to retain in memory.

To delete all documents at a later time:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Delete Printed RX, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will display "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * delete all, or # to retain in memory. To finish then, press Stop.

Screen display auto print off

Course:

Most often, Auto Print Off is activated by pressing the On/Off button, and documents are then stored in memory. Disable this function by pressing the On/Off button again.

The fax will also turn off Auto Print when the machine runs out of ink or paper, in which case, you should replace the ink cartridge or supply more paper. This situation usually results in display of the message Rec'd in Memory as well, and the unit will receive up to 30 transmissions or 60 pages maximum.

Please post back if you need further help, otherwise thank you for using and rating FixYa!
