Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
Hey sir, I am Carl Angelo D. Perez, I have a Sony PS2 (Slim type), it was broken one time, I asked my parents to fix it, then, we ask a fixer, then he said that my PS2's lens is broken, so he bought a new lens but after 2 months, it was broken again, I do the right thing according to the manual, but I don't know, I play it only 2 hours as the PS2 fixer told me, I never touch the lens, I don't use cd's with dirt nor scratches, I always clean my cd's, when I am finished playing, I don't leave the cd in my console... How or what is the problem? Why can't my PS2 work even if I am doing the right thing to do? Please solve this problem sir. I want to play my PS2 in my vacation... Please sir, or e-mail me: email@example.com... I am hoping for an answer, Thanks sir... =)

The PS2 slim motherboard is pretty resilient, except when it comes to Lightning. if the PS2 slim will not Boot up and show the memory card or anything, the Emotion Engine processor on the motherboard is likely toasted.
If you want to fix it, you will need to get on Ebay, and find a Broken PS2 slim theat will not read disks. Be suire you know that the broken one will boot up before bidding. I say do this, becasue it will not be worth fixing if you buy a new Motherboard. As new PS2 slim motherboards cost around $75.
You can send the PS2 to the Playstation Clinic in South Carolina if your in the USA. I will diagnose it and fix it if I can without replacing a motherboard. The cost for this is $31 including Return shipping and a 90 day warranty. No charge if I find it needs a motherboard and you do not want to replace the motherboard. I run the website www.playstationclnic.com and we can replace a motherboard, but will not repair one. Too expensive to repair. Time is money. The charge for replacing a motherboard including return shipping is about $85 for new motherboard, or $65 for a used motherboard. . This includes a 90 day warranty as well.
