First is the battery is working with 3V lithium battery or not with a digital multi meter if it is working correctly

take a sharp blade and sightly lift the pins in the cmos battery slot and try again

Comment changer l'heure

N'parlez vous Francais
I'm sorry my French is a little rusty,,,,are you asking about changing time and date on your desktop computer?

Put your mouse cursor on the time, then Right-click on it.
Change the time and date.

If the time and date changes back after you have reset it, then you have a bad CMOS battery. Replace it.
This is a type of watch battery. Generally it is a CR2032.
This flat coin looking CMOS battery is located on the motherboard.

Make sure the computer is off and unplugged from power.
FOLLOW anti-static precautions. (If you do not you will fry out the computer)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao866I9XpTo
Remove the CMOS battery and replace.
If you come back in a Comment, and state the computer manufacturer name, and model number, I should be able to lead you step by step in replacing the CMOS battery.

I have only found one type of CMOS battery in desktop computers. You need something such as a Maxell CR2032 or a compatible item.

Change the CMOS battery.

If you had taken the time to post the computer manufacturer name, and model number; I would know what motherboard we're dealing with, and what type of CMOS battery it uses.

Generally the battery is a CR2032.
A type of watch battery.

Change the cmos battery in a gateway dx4300

Remove the case to see the CMOS battery, in most computers it will be a coin size 3 volt lithium battery type CR2032.
After installing a new battery go into the BIOS setting to set the Time and Date etc.

Need to replace the clock batteries in my aspire rc 500 can you tell me what to do

You are talking about the CMOS battery. It takes a CR2032 and it can be found on the motherboard. It's about the size of a quarter. Just carefully remove the old one and replace it.
I'm curious to know why you think the battery needs to be replaced. If you clock keeps the wrong time, the battery could be defective, but more likely is the possibility that you computer just can't keep time correctly.
You could try to install a utility like "Atomic Clock" to keep the system updated.

The BIOS in CMOS is lost .How to replace it?

Tricky one, what make and model do you have?
It's very hard to lose the BIOS as it is hardcoded into the cmos, it may just be that the CMOS battery died and needs replacing (if a desktop then a CR2032 battery, if a laptop then could be one of many types) and the new battery will get it to load default BIOS again.

I lose my clock and date settings whenever i switch off my Acerpower desktop pc

I think you need to change your cmos battery. The instructions recommend an anti static wrist strap, It is the correct way but i have changed without but that was my choice.a very common battery is A coin-cell battery (CR2032)

To replace the CMOS battery, follow these steps:

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage components. Perform the procedures described here only at an ESD workstation using an antistatic wrist strap and a conductive foam pad. If such a station is not available, you can provide some ESD protection by wearing an antistatic wrist strap and attaching it to a metal part of the computer chassis.
Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Disconnect the computer's power cord from the ac power source (wall outlet or power adapter).
Remove the computer cover.
Locate the battery on the board.
With a medium flat-bladed screwdriver, gently pry the battery free from its connector. Note the orientation of the "+" and "-" on the battery.
Install the new battery in the connector, orienting the "+" and "-" correctly.
Replace the computer cover.

hope this helps please rate :)

What type of CMOS battery does a Dell Dinmension 4600 use?

Hi friend,
A coin-cell battery maintains computer configuration, date, and time information. The battery can last several years.
If you have to repeatedly reset time and date information after turning on the computer, replace the battery. You can read anything about your dell dimension 4600 PC like....how to change the battery click on LINK

CMOS battery replacement

Your Pc should have an Intel E210882 motherboard in it.
A coin-cell battery (CR2032) powers the real-time clock and CMOS memory. When the computer
is not plugged into a wall socket, the battery has an estimated life of three years. When the
computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.
The clock is accurate to ± 13 minutes/year at 25 ºC with 3.3 VSB applied.
When the voltage drops below a certain level, the BIOS Setup program settings stored in CMOS
RAM (for example, the date and time) might not be accurate. Replace the battery with an
equivalent one. Figure 14 shows the location of the battery.
These batteries are very common and can be purchased at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Etc...
Here is a link to the motherboard manual with battery replacement procedures:
