I need to change the menu language to English, as it turned to Chinese by mistake. Please help me. Thanks, El-sayed

Hello, That's the same camera I have! I can help you. Follow this sequence to reset all the settings so that the language becomes English:
  1. Turn cam on
  2. Press the "menu" button.
  3. Press right directional key (marked with the flash symbol)
  4. Press down directional key to go to the bottommost entry of the menu (which is the reset all option)
  5. Press the "set" key (in the middle of the directional keys)
  6. Press the up directional key and then "set" to confirm.
There. you're done. Now you don't have to learn Chinese to use your cam!
EXTRA NOTE: BTW just in case this applies to you too; When I first got my cam, I had trouble finding the timer option to time the shutter (1-2-3 click!) It's called "drive mode" in this camera.

Pictures are not real clear.

It's probably the settings to blame if you get bad pictures even in bright sunlight (ur cam has a max resolution of 10m.pixels which accounts for very good quality pictures) . You should get accustomed with the settings of your cam if you want to get good results with it. Playing around with the settings without *any* fear will help you with that. but before you start fiddling, Follow these steps to make sure you don't run into any trouble:
  • First of all, find the setting that goes 'restore factory defaults' or 'reset' or similar. with this, you can 'reset the settings back to how they were when you bought the cam' if you mess up anything.
  • If you already have any important pictures in the cam, move them to your computer just in case you delete them by mistake.
Now you can play with the settings to your hearts content :D. This website: ( ) will help you decipher any confusing technical terms. they also provide tips on how to get great photos. Good luck and happy shooting!

My Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 touchscreen will not work.

if the initialize and calibration settings cannot be accessed if the touch screen is not responding, try to power reset the camera: turn cam off, remove the battery, make sure the cam is not connected to an optional ac adaptor, set mode switch to play, press and hold down the power button for a minute, let go and turn cam mode back to off, reinsert battery and turn cam on. if touch screen is still not working, unit may require service. hope this helps. thanks:)

HOW DO i reset my camera when I get a "lens error" message?

If the camera is under guarantee take it back,
the lens error is that the lens isnt locking properly, to do this (and this is going to sound nuts) you must take the battery out wait 2-3 minutes then whack the camera (side) on a hard surface like a solid wood desk( not too hard), this will help unblock the lens to close/open correctly),
this is a fault with this particular model and its going to continue happening to you,

THE lCD broken but the cam normal ,still on, can take a picture

Certainly your camera is damage by mishandling. Sometimes repairs cost more than buying a new one. so better ask first the cost of repair before having it done. don't hate it's your fault anyway. Charge it to experience.

White photos

Did you change any settings (ISO, white balance, exposure compensation, etc.)? Go into the setup menu and try to find an entry for "reset". if you find it, reset your camera.
