I assume you use windows as an operating system.
Try reboot in safe mode.
Bootmenu options can be reached by pressing F12 at startup on some computer. If not on yours then check your manual. Choose Safe Mode and change resolution settings and graphic driver on your computer by right clicking on the desktop and choose properties. If this doesn't help then check the pins on the monitor cable if all are straight and not bended.
