Try a different USB port and if that doesn't work, please download a USB driver. If your still having a problem and the iPod will charge with the wall, than please re-install iTunes, or contact apple.

My ipod touch is new and only showing itunes icon and usb cable, how do i get started?

Ok download itunes on your computer from here.

Install it. Run the program.

Connect your ipod to your computer via usb cable while the itunes is running.

Now do what your itunes shows on the display.

30GB iPod video, connected it to a USB charger, now it's screwed.

Few months ago i have same problem with my apple ipod classic 30GB.

My USB cable is short so computer show that, USB device canot be recognized. I haver replaced my cable. Problem will be in USB slot of ipod.

Replace cable. Problem will be solve.

I can,t figure out how to disconect my ipod from

just pull out the cable from your ipod connector or from your computer, you can also use itunes to disconnect your ipod, click on your ipod in Itunes, you will see an arrow next to your ipod name on the left side of itunes where it displays MUSIC, RADIO,PODCAST etc. click on that arrow and your ipod will be disconnected from itunes.

disconect your ipod
click the menu and the center button at the same time and hold it for about ten seconds to refresh it
after you ipod turns on again
reconnect it
and itunes should be recongnise it
