ok put a pan of water in your oven with a cooking thermometer in it. Turn your oven with the new knob you just got from repair shop. They are in the yellow pages Lots of laid of repair guys went out on there own. So they work at a lower price. As i was telling you.set your new knob @ 9:00 leave it there long enough to even out 10 minutes will do. next set it @10:00 next 11:00 @12:00 and so on. Till you get all your settings are compleat. Oven temp 30 degrees low

Usually you remove the temperature control knob. A screw on the back can be loosened to allow the dial to be moved to correlate the temperature in the oven to the the setting on the knob. Tighten the screw, put the knob back on and you are good to go!

I hope this helps

My 1992 Frigidaire Elite stove has locked itself, how do unlock it?

1-turn oven control to lock
2-push in and turn the stop dial knob to set a cleaning time of aprox. 1 hour
3-push the start dial knob in . this will make the locking mechanism to operate (wait 15 seconds)
4- turn the stop knob back to the"0" setting on the cleaning dial. the knob will pop out waight 15 seconds to allow the mechanism to unlatch the door
5-open the door
6 push the stop dial in to return it to the manual position
7- turn the oven control knob to off
8- close door.
basically your just repeating a cleaning cycle to reset the lock mechanism

Stove to hot burns everything

This is a simple fix as long as the oven is heating properly and the only problem is that the temp seems higher than what the temperature control knob indicates...

Purchase an inexpensive oven thermometer from the hardware store and place it in the center of the oven. Set the temperature control knob to 350 degrees F.

Check the temperature indicated on the thermometer in the oven after 20 minutes. If it's not within 5 degrees of 350, you'll need to adjust the oven's temperature control.

Turn the oven off.

Pull off the temperature control knob. You can usually pull it off by hand, pry it off with a thin screwdriver, or slide a piece of cord up behind it and pull.

Note which kind of temperature control knob you have. There are two types: The first has a screw in the shaft of the knob; the second has an adjustment dial on the back of the knob.

Adjust the temperature with the first type by turning the screw in the shaft with a screwdriver. Turn it clockwise to lower the temperature; turn it counterclockwise to raise the temperature. Turn the screw just a little bit in the appropriate direction.

Adjust the temperature with the second type of knob by turning the dial on the back of the knob. (This dial is held in place with a screw or a clip that will need to be removed.) Raise the temperature setting by turning the dial counterclockwise; lower it by turning the dial clockwise. The notches are typically in 5 or 10-degree increments.

Test the oven temperature again.

Repeat until you're in the right temperature range.

Good Luck!

Westinghouse self cleaning oven manual or owners manual

Many White-Westinghouse manuals can be found here: http://www.frigidaire.com/support/manuals.asp I had the same problem and was able to solve it. They didn't have the exact manual for mine (a KF450G), but they had one that was similar enough (KF580H) to solve this issue. Setting the knobs to clean is only part of the process, to get it to run you need to set the timer. Read the key information below transcribed from the manual: --- To set the controls for the cleaning cycle: 1) Close the oven door. 2) Be sure the clock shows the correct time of day. 3) Be sure the Start Time knob is set for the same time as the clock. If not, turn the knob to the time on the clock. The knob will then pop out. 4) Push in and set the Stop Time knob for 2 to 3 hours past the Start Time. Example: If the Start Time and Clock read 1:00, set the Stop Time for 3:00 or 4:00. 5) Turn the Temperature Control to CLEAN. 6) Turn the Selector to CLEAN. If all controls are set correctly, the oven signal light will come on and stay on until the oven reaches its cleaning temperature. It will then cycle on and off. --- There is more information in the manual, but it's much too much information to manually transcribe - I've only typed enough for you to get it working. Note that the LOCKED light won't light initially, it only lights once the oven exceeds 550 degrees. Once that light is on, the oven will not reopen until the temperature drops below that point, even if you stop the clean cycle. Be sure to empty out the storage drawer under the oven before cleaning.

HOW TO TURN ON OVEN

I found an Ad with a description of the burner knob operation. Unfortunately I found nothing on the oven knobs. However, it's possible that the oven knob operation is similar to the burner knobs... * Dual burner operates by pushing in knob once for inside ring only (1,000BTU) and pushing in again to activate the outer ring (total 16,000BTU) Hope that helps!
