Question about Emerson SpongeBob SquarePants TV

1 Answer

Spongebob dvd player is not playing on Spongebob sb 314 tv

All hook ups are correct...I don't see in the menu system a choice for a "Video" or A/V selection on the SB314 tv.

How do I get DirectTV to play on the SB314 & aSponge Bob DVD player to work on the SB314?

I see no other choices for channel selection other than numbered channels & AIR/CATV in the menu. What channel would direct satellite connection from my DirecTV TIVO work on?

You need a TV with an A/V input option. I believe your set does not have this option.

You can look at getting an A/V modulator. Check with any local electronics store. The salesman can give you the details about how to set this up with an A/B switch so that you can select between the modulator and the cable system.

Depends on the DVD player if it has one big cable with screw on connectors then it plays on channel 3 or 4 and you can change that on the player, if it does not, then it uses two cables one is audio and the other is video. Plug them in and go to the menu and look for aux or some other setting for that input. If it is a built in player then it should automatically detect the player is playing and show it on the screen.

Press menu on your remote. Press "4" for channel and "4" for video input source. In this menu, you can toggle between s-video and regular video (yellow plug) input. The disadvantage is, if you're like me and you've got a DVD player and and VCR (or maybe a video game system) all hooked up to the same TV, you've got to go through the menu and switch the inputs to watch something else. I'm happy with my digital audio cable; I'll deal with yellow-plug video.

How do you hook up dvd/vcr to play on this tv

This television has front and back rca jacks. Those are the yellow red and white holes. You would get an rca cable and connect it between this television and the dvd player. Then you would have to change av inputs on the television's remote to access the DVD player's signal.

I want to change the video output setting to S-video on my JVC AV32820, but I can't find that on the tv menu. The only status choices I have are Standard, Choice, and Theater. None of these make a...

When you have an S-video input you often won't have a feature (menu) selection for that function specifically. The S-video is usually an alternative input for a specific video input. e.g. Video 1, Video 2 and etc. The action of actually inserting the S-video cable will select that function automatically. Make sure that your input matches the video input that you have selected and just hook it up. It will work.

Can't get new DVD player to play

On some sets there is a button on your remote marked "TV/VIDEO" or some such text. With your tv and player hooked up and working, pushing that button will switch from TV to video and back.

On other sets, if you keep changing channels, you will eventually come to one that turns off the video broadcast and plays the DV.

Good Luck

Hooking up & seeing a dvd player?

does the dvd have a coax output for coax antenna input on the tv? you can use that untill you can get the video input selection straight with the tv and a remote that supports rca's extra functions such as menu , tv/av button
or
also if there is a( wake-up) on/off timer in the tv menu , then you can also set it to come on with the video input instead of a tv station, set it a few minutes after the time it is when you set it( then just turn off the tv set after the time is set and you have exited the menu, then it will come on with the video input instead of a tv station)
otherwise you will need that remote that supports the video input selection on your tv
