Question about Mitsubishi WD-52627 52" Television
This is related to another post but I have more specific information now. I have Mitsubishi WD-52627 DLP. It makes a buzzing/crackling sound when turned on and there is no picture. The lamp is fine. Yankeegurl pointed me to the ballast assembly in the area of the noise. (Thanks Yankeegurl!) I looked back there and sure enough I could see what looked like sparking/glowing that coincided with the buzzing. I can see the part on the circuit board that has the problem. I have the service manual and I opened up the tv and took a picture of the board. The part with the problem is circled. Anyway, I called Mits and they told me they would not sell me a new board, they would only sell to an authorized service center. They said the board would be just shy of $400. Does anyone know if there is a service center for replacing parts on these circuit boards rather than just replacing the entire board. If I can have the part replaced for even half of what the board would cost I would probably go that route. I am not having any luck finding a place but I thought someone here would know. Just want to make sure I have explored all options.
If that is sparking the ballast is ok. Change the bulb although it looks ok it is not firing up. also make sure the bulb is plugged securely in its socket.
