The fact of the matter is, your system is not reading the game disks. The option to use a cleaner is always the best way to trouble shoot. After you use one, try a different kind of disk, like a DVD and see if it plays. If not, then your BlueRay drive is bad, and I would suggest sending it in for repairs.

If the unit turns on and loads to the PS2 menu attempt to play a ps1 game or cd. if these play the laser may be faulty. if these also do not play then the opical drive motor has malfunctioned. contact sony or a authorized repair center for further instructions.

This is a problem occurring in all the play station 3 consoles....... this is mainly because of the poor quality of the disc.....as a result it leads to the damage of ur PS3 lens..............use good original discs........the heating effect is due to the long usage of pirated discs ...

Seems to me you ether got a bad drive in this unit or you got scratched or dirty disc. Normally you would try a blue ray disc in this to see if it works if it doesn ot work you might have a issue with your drive.

By the problem you have described, i beleive you have a modded Xbox 360 used to play copied games, if yes you need to check what game are you playing.

If it is a latest game, then you would require a Wave 4 patch to play copied games on a modded Xbox 360, you can google on the web to find out the list of games that require wave 4 patch to run before you play the game on Xbox 360

What you need to do is first burn the Wave 4 patch on a Dual Layer DVD and load the game disc first and you would see "play CD" option, now take out the game disc and enter the Wave 4 patch disc you just burned and again you would see "play CD" option.

DO NOT PLAY the CD, just take it out again and re-insert your copied game CD in your Xbox 360 and you should be good to go.

Dear Sir!You should increase the disc speed.Follow these steps to increase the disc speed:
Step 1>>Turn on your PS2 without inserting any disc into it. Step 2>>Wait for the main menu [Containing Browser and System Configuration ]. Step 3>>Press Triangle Button to enter Version Information menu. Step 4>>Move the cursor to Play Station Driver and Press Triangle to enter Play Station Driver menu. Step 5>>At PlayStation Driver screen, Press x at Disc Speed and set it to Fast. Step 6>>Enter game disc and enjoy.

No on the usb also cant you just play audio cds on the ps2 unit it's self and for format a us region ps2 can play DVD, CD,blue disc and black discs with region code ntsc u/c

this isn't a certain solutoin but no harm will be done. You should try opening up your PS2 an cleaning the laser with a cotton bud. Might work and I suggest you try it.

The Blue back disc is CD format. The DVD laser circuit is giving you trouble. You can adjust the DVD pot some on the back of the Laser. Turn it about 3 degrees clockwise. Then put it the laser back in. Test the PS2 with no cover on, and use the white round disc from the laser drive cover to clamp a disc onto the spindle. Test DVD and PS2 Games that do not have Blue back.
