The neck of the base of the vacuum has broken it can no longer hold the stem that provides suction in place. I am referring to the base with the dirt sensor on it. can it be fixed or replaced?

I'm having a similar problem with a broken hose attachment at the canister, however, mine also will not power up (the on switch is located in the handle on the hose). Are you experiencing this as well? I'd hate to replace the hose only to realize the motor shorted out when the hose became dislodged.

Yes if you go to the outlet store they have parts that you can replace, and also they sell replacement pparts on the kenmore website. But i prefer the store, because they do reductions.

Hose has lots of suction but main part doesn't, can you suggest how I can fix it please

By the "main part", it sounds like you may be referring to the electric power nozzle? Look down the stem or neck of the nozzle as it may be plugged. You should be able to see from the opening of the neck through to the brush roll (just slightly). Be careful should you decide to disassemble the nozzle. Some of the newer nozzles can be easily destroyed by over tightening the screws.

What do to if keeps spitting things out even if new bag is in?

It sounds like the roller brush is going, but the vacuum isn't working, i.e., no suction.
If you have a canister vacuum, disconnect wands from hose and place hand at end of hose. If there is suction, it's fine. If not, disconnect hose from vacuum, turn on vacuum, and hold hand to intake. If there's suction here, then the hose must be clogged; or holey hose can result in greatly reduced suction.
If it's an upright, the hose could be clogged. Or the fan broken, which would also result in no suction. It would help to know what model you have.

Theres a little bendable neck that hose with suction plugs into. Thats the one thats clogged. You will have to fish it out by taking off the roller and clearing the clog.

the problem could be with the power head itself or the hose providing the power. If you can turn the unit on from the handle, then its not the hose and you need to get a new power head..

Dyson dc07 yellow/blue no suction at base

Sounds like you've **** up something which is obstructing the suction from the brush bar. There's a little section of curved grey pipe near the base which carries the dirt from the head up the vertical pipe at the back. This section can be removed, check there is nothing jammed in there, paper etc.

After using the kemore vac it shuts off depending on how I m pulling on the tube part, it seems like there's a short where. Any help Thans,Steve the canister connects to the suction tube

This is a very common problem on your series of Kenmore canister vacuums. It is the result of a part inside the handle of the hose (where you would have your hand) which has broken and no longer properly supports and keeps in place the electrical receptacle that feeds electricity from the canister to the power head. If you provide a model number, I can provide an exploded parts diagram which will show you the likely culprit.

Suction only with attachments but none otherwise

Remove the brush roll and then fit everything back as normal. Then switch on. Put your hand to the sole plate - if you can feel suction coming through as you would normally vacuum then it could be a motor seizure. However if you can't feel suction then there's a clog between the main dust channel and the main hose pipe/where the hose comes out the back of the vacuum.
Once that's done then put the brush roll and belt back. You may find that the belt may have to be replaced if its broken.

Kenmore direct drive will no longer self-propell

There may also be a reset button. If the brushes get stuck the unit can shut off power to the brushes to keep a total melt down from occurring. The reset button should return power in these types of vacuums.
