There are two types of resets that you can perform on nabi - forced reboot and factory reset. In the unlikely event that your nabi becomes unresponsive, you can easily perform a forced reboot. A factory reset is recommended when slow performance persists or if you want to wipe out all of your personal data and settings from nabi. Forced Reboot: To perform a forced reboot, hold the Power Button down until nabi turns off. When nabi is off, press the Power Button to turn on nabi again. Factory Reset:Caution! A factory reset is a very serious process because it will SYSTEMATICALLY WIPE ALL USER DATA from nabi. A factory reset will return nabi to its original factory settings. To perform a factory reset from Mommy/Daddy Mode, tap All Apps > Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset tablet > Erase everything. Please note: We highly recommend backing up your nabi prior to performing a factory reset. You can back up your music, videos, photos and apps with nabi™ Sync.
According to Cisco, when initiating a factory reset procedure certain information from the IP phone is erased while other information is reset to the factory default value, as shown in the list below:
Information Erased:
CTL File (Certificate Trust List)
LSC File (Locally Significant Certificate)
IP Phone Call History (Calls Received, Placed, Missed etc)
Phone application
Information Reset to Default:
User configuration settings (ring tone, screen brightness, sound levels etc)
Network configuration settings
t is highly advisable to follow the firmware upgrade procedure in a non-working environment to ensure other phones are not affected (in case of an accidental reboot), and to avoid the freshly factory reset ip phones obtaining the working environment's settings.
To reboot to factory setting you need to have the restore disk from the computer, put it in the drive and restart with the cd in the drive, if the startup screen does not start right away you need to type f11 or f6 to change startup order to cd first the the restore screen will startup and click restore factory settings
If you are having problems with your system and you want to restore it to factory settings .. as long as there is nothing wrong with the CD drive itself you do not need windows drivers for it to function properly during a factory restore
Can you still log in to Windows Vista?
e machine has a RECOVERY MANAGEMENT allows you to restore sytem to factory default or reboot and tap F10 and follow instructions.
If you have the recovery CD, then put that in the drive, reboot the laptop and make sure you boot to the CD. The recovery process will start up and you can restore the laptop to it's factory settings. Make sure you have all of your documents, music, etc. backed up.
