Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I loaded a Mini Digital Camera (3 functions) into my computer with your CD (included) on 4/13/08. Afterwards, I tried to go on-line using my Mozilla Firefox and it wouldn't connect. Instead, a miniature screen approximately 1" x 1" appeared at the top left of my full screen showing a small replica of the Firefox icon, then the minimize, maximize, exit signs. Underneath shows arrows left and right. I uninstalled the mini camera from my computer, but I'm still unable to correct this problem. Net Zero reloaded Mozilla for me, but it still prevents the internet connection. They told me to contact Innovative Products. Can you please help?????

the whole thing should have nothing to do with the internet connection, it has been a cohincidence, is rrather diifficult that a camera software jams the internet connection. Check your modem or router, eventually unplug it and plug back to compute r usb and/or power. If you cannot solve it call your internet broadband provider and troubleshoot by phone.

My computer says I don't have drivers for my camera after running the CD.

You don't need to use a driver.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I need the Panasonic NV-GS27 drivers

I don't think you do. According to the Panasonic document "Operating Instructions (PC-Connection)", your camera does not use a USB connection and did not even come with the software CD that was shipped with cameras that have a USB connection.

You need to use the Firewire (DV) interface to transfer videos, and this does not require drivers. It does require Windows XP with service pack 2 (or 3) and DirectX 9.0b/9.0c, and you will probably need to fit a Firewire interface card to the computer's internal PCI bus, as most Windows computers don't come with this connection. Whether this camera will work with Windows 7 is not covered by the document.

You then use various video editing software (commercially available or free downloads from the internet) to download the recordings. The software on the computer controls my Mini-DV camera, including rewinding and play functions to record from the tape in the camera.

You can obtain a copy of the Panasonic document from THIS LINK

How to down load the digital video camera recorder DCR TRV 285E pal

there are few options:
1. use the software you got in the CD that came with the camera.
2. connect the camera with a USB to Mini USB cable to the computer and then you can use it as a refular hard disc
3. search google for video editor free software- there are many. Then you can streamline the signal to the computer and capture the video with the recording function.
4. in case you have a DVD recorder (not the one in the computer, the actual device connected to the TV) you can connect the camera to it and record to a writable DVD.

Hello,

I don't know which model your camera is, however you can install the drivers that would have been included on your CD from the Vivitar website at the below link:

How to transfer mini dv tape to dvd or vcd

you should have a few choices with this model: usb, firewire, composite a/v..

this link will take you to canon's download page for your camera,

the dvmessenger app should let you view your camera on the comp, use it for videoconferencing, and view it online, as well as remotely control it, although it may not let you transfer much.

your camera should have come with an installation cd that included digital video software. if it did not, you will have to contact canon for a replacement cd.

i would recommend downloading the product manual from the above site and checking page 134

in addition you can use the memory card to transfer files via a memory card reader on the pc, these can be picked up inexpensively at most camera and computer stores. your camera however should be fine if you are using windows xp and the usb cable for your camera.

hope this helps,
trin
