You question is too short, I have trouble assuming it. Anyway let me try my best to make you understand.
1. If you want to reboot your laptop as soon as it starts up, just press ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard, before you see the windows logo start screen. It'll automatically reboot itself.

2. (windows xp), Simplest method is press Alt+F4 and then click Restart how to reboot my laptop - f7428f1.png

or if your desktop is set to classic menu, the click on the "shutdown" and select "restart" as shown below;

3. For windows 7, click start, then click the right arrow ">" just right to the "shutdown" button and select "restart"how to reboot my laptop - 530a558.jpgg src="/uploads/images/530a558.jpg" alt="530a558.jpg" class="h_mi" />

Or simply press Ahow to reboot my laptop - 7f8d32f.jpgelect "Restart"

Same steps with the windows vista.

Why does my laptop switch off intermittently and then reboot.

There can be any number of reasons why this would happen.
  • Overheating. Slow performance and intermittent restarts can be caused by heat.
  • Corrupted operating system.
  • Faulty software
  • Hardware failure such as memory failures.
  • Incomplete or corrupted operating system update.
Just to mention a few! Take a look in the administrative log files to see if windows has managed to write an error before it failed. instructions are here;

take a look in the admistrations log in the Opening Event Viewer Windows Help

I lost the reboot disc for my XP home , The laptop is a dell Stidio xps. Where can I get a reboot program??? I still have the product key.

Click Start - Programs and look for one or more sections starting with DELL.One of them should be a support section, and you might find exactly what you need under that section. There are probably 4 different DELL Menu selections, so look closely for the right one.
Good luck,

How can i reboot my acer laptop

Press Start(ORB at bottom left for vista/w7) and if you're on windows 7/vista, there should be a list button on the bottom right side of the start menu saying "Shutdown"(windows 7) and "Sleep"(Vista), click the list and click Reboot.

On XP you need to click the Shutdown button and before you click shutdown instead click Reboot(Green button If i recall correctly).

How to reboot my laptop

You do not give enough details about what the problem is and why you need to reboot. Reboot simple means restart, but if the computer is frozen or will not start at all there are specific solutions.
Here is an advent support forum that may have answers for you.

This page is about Advent desktop reboot but try these things anyway. The last step to take out the power means also taking out the the battery in the case of a laptop. Good luck

Viruses

lol Why do people always say reboot when they mean reload or restore the original?
Ok there are a number of ways. Usually people just use the restore disk.
Often there is a special partition on the hard drive that is there just for restoring your working partition.
Often at bootup you get the option of hitting the esc key or another key that will take you to a menu that gives you the option of restoring your computer.
Take your pick. Should jog your memory since you have done this before. I have only done it once in 17+ years of working with computers and that was on an hp laptop I got dead on ebay and patched back together 2 weeks ago.

How do i reboot a acer aspire 5515 laptop

What is the problem now. You have not mentioned. I suppose that it does not reboot. In that case at bootup press F8 to enter the Safe Mode. Once you are in safe mode, you can restore the laptop to pre- kids date. That will remove all the changes that the kids made whether it be the settings or any new prog installed and whatnot. To restore to an earlier date Start->All Progs-> Accessories-> Syatem Tools->System Restore. Once there, select a date (bold numbers in the calender that appears) and let it do what it does. Will reboot on its own and ultimately give you a system as if the kids had not touched it at all.

Laptop switches off without warning

Take a look at the event viewer (Start -> Run -> type "eventvwr" and hit OK) and see if there are any STOP errors right before or right after the reboot time. The machine is probably set to automatically restart after a blue screen STOP error (aka "Blue Screen of Death", or BSOD), but that's making it reboot too quickly for you to see the actual error. Post a new problem with the STOP error code and we can help you out further!

When you turn on my lenovo laptop there is no display

your computer might be looking for the operating system on your usb,try to disconnect the battery and ac adapater and put it back again,reboot he computer,if problem persist,you might need to go to the bios or setup screen,usually you can go there either by F2 or delete when you turn it on,go to the boot order/boot sequence and make sure that your hard drive is on the number one list,otherwise,you need to change the order so it wont read the usb before it loads windows
