Install windows 95 from floppy

Microsoft Windows 95 employs the use of a bootable floppy disk to begin the installation of the Windows 95 operating system or to troubleshoot problems with the system. Microsoft Windows 95 uses the MS-DOS system to boot the computer first and then loads the Windows 95 operating system onto the machine. Windows 95 Boot Disks may be created in one of two ways: The Startup disk may be created from within Windows or a boot disk may be created from a free downloaded boot disk image. After the boot disk is created the disk may be used to boot the computer and install or troubleshoot Windows 95.

Click "Start" and then click "Settings" in Windows 95. Click the "Control Panel" option. Click "Add and Remove Programs." Click "Startup Disk" and then click "Create." Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive. Click "OK." The operating system will create the Windows 95 boot disk. Click "OK" when the disk is finished. Create the Windows 95 Boot Disk using Downloaded Boot Disk Image Open a Web browser and navigate to the boot disk image site (See "Below"). http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm Download the Windows 95 boot disk image and save the .EXE file to the desktop. Click the .EXE file to unzip the enclosed files. The formatting application will start. Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive and click "OK." The Windows 95 boot image will be created on the blank floppy disk. Use the Windows 95 Boot Disk Insert the Windows 95 boot up disk into the computer's floppy disk drive. Power the computer down by clicking "Start" and then clicking "Shutdown." Power on the computer with the Windows 95 boot disk in the floppy disk drive. The computer will boot up into MS-DOS to enable installation or troubleshooting of Windows 95.

At times it will tell me my files are missing or it will not let me do an install ?

the fact that it tells you the files are missing when you are trying to do an installing from the disk it means the disk you are using is either corrupted or has parts that can not be read..The thing to do is try to do an installation from the windows ..and this way you will succeed (and avoid the possibility if the disk player is the one making problems )
another thing is to try and burn the windows disk again ..Download a image ..and after that use Nero or another tool to burn a boot-able disk ..and use it to install ..
now ..depending on your computer configuration ..you can choose what to install ..but if you want you can even install windows 7 if it supports it ..for that you need more than 1G cpu and 1g of ram on your computer and at least 20 G free in C drive .(remember this drive need to be formatted so all files will need to be moved if you want to keep something )
here are some images I used with success ..
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6887809/Microsoft.Windows.XP.Professional.DECEMBER.2011
or windows 7
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6839618/windows_7
for this you will need the loader if it is not in the folder ..(search on same site )
for to be able to download these images..you need a torrent client program ..and I would go for this one ..
http://www.utorrent.com/
to download..just install u torrent ..and after that go to the page ..and click download this torrent (ignore the big download button case it is a spam )
it will start in utorrent my default ..and when it is all downloaded..you can use Nero and burn the image to the disk ..to do that ..just install Nero ..and double click on the image ..and will open Nero automatically ..
for windows 7 ..you can even try a tool to load it on a memory stick and install it from there by pressing the key for boot menu on start ..and after that choose to boot from the usb ..(or if the boot do not work ..just start the installing from the usb flash directly in windows.
here is the tool I mentioned..
http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
if you try to use this tool in windows xp ..you will need to install a couple of fixes ..cause it is made for windows 7 ..but they are available on teh net and the program leads you to them automatically ..
and the tool works cause I use it like this all the time ..and it can also make a boot-able disk or a boot-able usb ..your choice ..
let me know if you have additional problems and please rate my answer..to help my activity here ..

NOT ABLE TO INSTALL WINDOW XP

Hi meetabdullah,

Have a nice day.

If you're running Windows XP and your computer software crashes or becomes unusable, you may have to run Windows XP recovery to reestablish your software and make your computer usable once again. When purchased, many computers don't come with a Windows XP recovery disk, but you can download one for free. The Windows XP recovery disk holds almost all of the computer software and files that came loaded with your PC and can assist you in rebuilding your hard drive.

Here are some instructions that somehow could help you:

1.Place a formatted disk in your disk drive. Click on the "Download a Windows XP recovery disk from Microsoft" link in Resources below. Click "Download." Then click "Save." Find your disk drive on the menu and click "OK."

2. Remove the disk when the Windows XP recovery disk download is complete, and place it in the computer on which you need to use it.

3.Shut down your computer; then turn your computer back on. Your computer will automatically start up running on the Windows XP recovery disk, which will allow you to install Windows XP once again.

I need to hook my printer back to my computer i lost the disk

Go to Brothers web site and look for downloads or drivers. Download the drivers for your model and install them. Also if it has any software/manuals that the model uses you should find it there as well. I you already have software installed I would uninstall and reinstall the software you download.

My computer won't let me install anything and says the Windows Installer can't be found. I don't have the original installation disks.. help!

It sounds like you have a corrupt Windows installer. You shouldnt need the installation disks. Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools>Windows Update
If Windows installer is not one of the recommended downloads, then search the Windows support site for "download Windows installer".

I am assuming you are running Windows XP?

How do I use DriverDetective on a computer not connected to the Internet?

you can install driver detective whether you are on the internet or not, by downloading it with an internet accessed computer saving it then copying it onto a disk or usb stick. Put it on your computer and install it, it will still check your computer for outdated drivers and drivers that need updating.. Make a note of the drivers that are needed, and use an internet based computer to download the drivers that you need and then copy them to a disk and install them on your computer

I hope this helps

You need to run installer software from printer disk, before connecting the printer usb to computer.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file, double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.
