I was using my MP780 just minutes earlier (for printing on an envelope) and then I tried to print the letter and the error code came up. I have tried moving the ink cartridge side to side with the power off. I don't think the cartridge is moving like it normally does when the it warms up, but it is hard to tell. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

My machine makes a strange clicking noise when it's trying to print.  Instead of printing, it displays the 6A00 error code.  The printer housing seems to be moving erratically.

The printer says Error 6A00 and a green and orange light keep flashing back and forth. I have no idea how to fix it.

When I turn the printer "On", it grinds (like normal) then the front door drops down, and the "alert" light flashes. The screen says "Check Printer" and 6A00. I called Canon Customer Service and he said that means there is a paper jam. I've looked everywhere and cannot find a paper jammed anywhere. This WAS a good printer/copier but I'm frustrated with this "error". Also, the ink carrier is not moving.

We turn on our Cannon MP610 Printer and the display shows a 6A00 error message. It says to turn printer off and on and if problem persists to see the manual. The manual has nothing about any error messages!!

Can someone tell me what I need to do?

We have tryed cleaning the print heads but the problem is still there.

I have the Canon Pixma iP4000R printer. I had an error code of 6A00 and my power light was blinking/flashing green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange (12 oranges).

I tried the “waste ink counter reset reset” procedure: Power on while holding the stop/reset button and pushing the service button twice, then pushing the stop/rest button 4 times to clear the error, but that didn’t work.

My ink cartridge carrier wasn't moving-staying in the center. I thought I had a paper jam.

I looked at a few blogs about my error on other Canon Pixma models and they kept talking about “sponges”.

The following is what I discovered that cleared my error and now my printer is back to printing!

The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. I was looking for a softer material like the long thin gray foam strip material in my printer. The 2 "sponges" on my Pixma iP4000R were next to each other-one was rectangular and one was square-like. Originally they were white but the ink made them black/navy.

The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".

I didn't see the sponges at first, as there was a white backwards “L” shaped plastic piece that had a spring attached to it. The “L” shaped piece was moved forward out of its place. I used my pen tip and pushed that piece back and found that the rectangular "sponge" had popped out of its place.

I used a pen tip popped both “sponges” out and rinsed them with water and voila they were once again white. I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.

My error is gone and I can print again!

Problem lies with either the sheet feed or the cartridge return tray.

With the power off try lifting the lid to the printer and manually slide the cartridge tray left and right.
You may have to clean all ink residue, move the tray back to its most right position and close everything.

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. I would get in touch with Canon, to hopefully get it repaired. Not much you can do yourself sadly.

Error code 6A00

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Canon Mp780 error code 6A00

6A00 is not a jam error, it is an error of the purge assembly not cycling properly. Many times a paper scrap jammed in the capping assembly or the squeegee assembly caught on the filter assembly. Usually worn out gears and dried ink so that replacement of the purge assembly is the best fix.

6A00 is the error when the purge assembly is broken or jammed. You need a shop to install a new one since the entire print engine has to come out to replace it.

Canon pixma mp800 error code 6A00

6A00 means you need a new purge assembly. That's the unit that cleans the printhead. Part number is QM2-3032-000 around $30.00 but a shop should install it.

6A00 error

The error seems to indicate a failed sheet feed, check the paper path to see for any stuck bits of paper, however I have heard that this can also be caused by a flaky sensor in the paper path.....

apparently the best way to deal with this is to turn it upside down and give it a shake.

hope this helps

Error code 6A00

Error Code 6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. You cannot fix it by yourself because you do not have the tools to fix the printer.
You go to a Canons Support Page and ask for a replacement if it is still under warranty or you replace the printer with a new one.
