Can you check if the power is connected to the ac outlet, and if the cpu has a power. If no power in the cpu even the power cord is pluuged in the outlet of the power source the problem is your power supply. Maybe the fuse blow up when the power is back after the power failure. But sometimes the cpu has no power but the monitor have a power it's also power supply failure the dc output of power supply is not working. the best solution is to replace the power supply with the same wattages or higher.

My compaq presario SR1053WM desktop computer will not boot up past the "COMPAQ" logo. The keyboard and mouse will not work to hit the F8, F10 buttons. Is it the hard drive or motherboard that...

ok...here we go

1) disconnect all devices except keyboad, mouse and monitor
2) unplug power cord
3) leave unplugged and hold power button in for 15 seconds
4) release the power button
5) plug back in
6) pres the power button and see if it boots up
if it does, themn it was either an ittermittent lock up of the mobo or a device conflict
if not, then either your processor or mobo is fried
just remember, the computer MUST be unplugged before you hold in the power switch, and you must release the switch before you plug it back in
failure to do so can cook several circuits at once !!

Nothing happens when push start button. power cord etc good ??? is this a power unit failure?

make sure the outlet is recieving power

unplug the tower from the outlet & then replug it in & see what happens

make sure all cords are plugged in correctly in the back of the tower

then if nothing happens after you push the start button, power supply & cord could be bad

the same thing happened to my daughter's pc & had to replace power supply & shorted out the motherboard

I had a power failure and tried to restart computer will not start and light on back keeps blinking

Well lets hope nothing fried, What i would recommend to try is to unplug the power chord from the back of the computer and hold in the power button for about 30 Seconds to remove all the power from the board. Then plug the power chord back in and hit the power button and see if the computer starts. Let me know if this works for you. Thanks

Compaq presario sr1950 nx desktop - won't start

My suggestion would be to open the case and unplug everything and then plug it all back in again.
To test individual components, unplug everything but the CPU, memory, and video card to see if it starts.
Then one by one, plug the other stuff in and try starting again.

Wont turn on i get a flashing lite in the power on button

A flashing power light usually indicates a hardware failure. Try unplugging the computer for 30 second then turn it back on and see if it starts. If you plug it back in and it starts flashing again it is a bad piece of hardware (probably motherboard but no way to know for sure without testing)

Try another power cord first to be sure; if that doesn't works, then replace the power supply.

I have a Compaq SR1303wm and I unplugged it yesterday and I plugged it back in toay and it won't power up. There is a little flashing green light in the back and it making a little clicking sound

Yep--you need a new power supply. Get one that is the same size (they mostly are) and probably 350Watts. That should do it.

Measure it before you go to the store to be sure it's the correct size.
Or, better yet, take the old one with you.
