SOURCE: GE Adora Front Load Washing Machine Problem

I had a similar problem...with the added issue of the door not locking at all. I cleaned the filter and all is well. However, it took me hours to find the 3 screws everyone was talking about The screws are at the very bottom of the washer, under the lip, facing front. If your machine sits on a pedestal drawer like mine, they are located between the machine and the pedestal. I hope these pics save someone a little time...

SOURCE: Where is the pump filter on a front loading ge

The filter (or clean out trap) is located on the drain pump. To access, just follow these steps:

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.

2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.

3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).

4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.

5. Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.

6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.

7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.

8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe.

For reference, you can view some excellent exploded view diagrams of your washer at appliancepartspros.com. If you have any questions about this procedure, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: My GE space saver stackable washing machine will

Im haveing the same exact problem on the same exact machine... I have taken all the pannels off, and drained the water. I was wondering if there may be a way that the pump lost it's prime and needs to be re-primed? (wishfull thinking on my part.) There was no indication that the pump burnt out, it just stopped working instantly with no symptoms. The other functions seem to work, it will agitate the laundry, and then will just stop when it comes to the pump cycle. Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

GE Washer wont drain. Wont agitate, does nothing. Washer is part of a stackable unit about 4-5 yrs old. Checked circuit breakers and electrical and water supply. What should I check? Are there fuses inside...

If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Here is a link to the part you need.

Maytag stackable w/d

Yes, it is inside the front washer lower front panel. Turn off poawer to unit and change w/ 1Amp 250V (regular of slow-blow). Then try only opening washer lid door with full dial pushed in (that would be the 'off' position. Only open/close lid w/ dial in off position. If washer works normally, may have a temp solution. Mine started this way, but ultimately the double relayed door lid switch was going bad and I had to replace it. Instructions/pictures below. Good Luck
