I have a Samsung LN-S2651D 26 in. LCD TV. The video stopped working but the sound is still ok. Can you give me some hints about what to look for? I took the back cover / shielding off and did not see any unusual things in the power supply and inverter board. I am a retired electronics engineer and I know few things about hardware.

Do flashlight test on unit. If you can see an image thruout screen the problem is with the tcon board. If no image then it is the inverter board/circuits.
press the center power button for about 30 secs verify that the video cables are plugged in and try a different set of cables. If not unplug tv for 2 mins.
GOOD LUCK.

Have you check with the cable company to make sure they are broadcasting to you in HD ? It takes more bandwith so some cable companies will charge extra for it so you will have to check.
A lot of times it only pops the on board fuse, or if it has a transformer, then it often simply "Blows" the Primary windings and not too much happens on the secondary, If it is a switchmode well then you probably will have to replace the entire thing.
I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.
I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.
If you have menus (on screen display) then the tv may be ok and your signal source is ng or hooked up wrong. If no menus then the tv needs expencive parts inside
with the PC input or analog SVGA the only 16:9 resolution it supports is 1920x1080, which can be difficult for some older systems to handle. However, on HDMI it should support all the standard HD resolutions.
