Make sure that the wireless switch is on (usually indicated by a blue light). Then go to control panel>network and sharing center>connect to a network>choose your network name>type in the security key if you have one and connect. Alternate method: Right click on the wireless icon on the system tray at the lower right hand where the time is and choose connect to a network, choose the network name and type the security key of your network then connect.

Hello,i have a problem with my linksys Etherfast cable/DSL router The power light will not stop flashing no matter what i do

That's because a stable connection is not being determined by the router. Call up you're ISP and inform them about the issue. There is probably a lot of distortion on you're phone line ! Ask them for a fiber optic upgrade !
Hope that answers your question !

No internet access with wireless

Hi,

First of all check the DSL cable must be in WAN port of the linksys router. if it is done then do the following.

Actually DSL modem and Linksys router are conflicting with their IP class. Means DSL and Linksys routers are using the same IP class of 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.

You must change one's IP class because both are routers and if they having same class they cant communicate. Unplug the WAN cable of the linksys. open browser and put ip 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 any one which works for u in the address bar. Username and password hopefully be admin admin or just admin and password blank field.
when you access the linksys router configuration page then come to LAN configuration. If there IP is 192.168.1.1 then change it to 192.168.0.1 and if it is 192.168.0.1 then change it to 192.168.1.1 Save configuration and reboot your laptop and plug dsl cable to linksys WAN port.
Hope now this will work.

Regards;
Hasan

I can not open 192.168.1.1 on the web to check and re-set my router

Press the reset button on the back of the router.  Also, delete the network connection on your computer.

Linksys Routers and Microsoft PPTP

Microsoft uses IP Protocol 47 [GRE] for this secure tunnel. Provided that the PPTP Pass Through is set to Enable on the Router's Filters page and port 1723 is forwarded to the VPN Server, the Router will allow authentication and remote access into your network. The router will also allow you access remote PPtP networks from behind the router providing the PPtP Passthrough is enabled on the router.
