Just bought a new set of night owl goggles and used them two or three time's. Now when I turn them on one side is very blurry and the other side is perfect. Does anyone know or what causes this problem and can it be repaired.. Jay in Ireland

It could be a lot of things; such as, faulty wire connection, cold solder
joint, HV voltage arcing, corroded battery terminals. intermittent short in the
switches. If it stop work, try gently shaking it several times, push the on/off
button several times. make sure the battery makes a good connection in the
battery compartment. Wrap it up and put it in your freezer for a few hours.
There are electronic components that might get hot/warm and by cooling them down
they will start working again. I don't know who manufactured Night Owl NOTG1 Goggles or who manufacture the components. Rissia manufactures make a lot of night vision devises and components. Also, there are a lot of countries in world that manufacture NV devises, and their parts. GB...stewbison
How does your Night Owl keep telling you that you have limited authority. Does
you Night Owl have a liquid crystal screen, or does it have a phone system that
you can communicate with you NV optics, How!!
Don't worry about it. If you called Night Owl in El Paso, TX. and started
communicating with voice activated phone system. There are certain parameters
that are off limits to the general public. There used by the employee's of Night
If you going to ask Night Owl for parts other than, lens covers, Optic lens
and may a few parts for the lens or IR and operation manuals. They might sell
these parts to you. Any thing else is called "proprietary". Short and sweet,
it's their secret. sorry.

Hello. Check with Night Owl. They are located in El Paso, TX. Look in the catalog with Dig-Key, Mouser, Allied or you can search the internet. Such as, "rubber coated momentary switches" or "rubber coat on/off switches" There are hundred of thousand switch that are manufactured. Normally on these rubber coated switches the covering is glued on the switch, it can be removed. There another idea, just replace it with a better switch, and many different switch are made. Ten year sounds fine. You got ten years out of Russian manufacture NV monocular, even though it has Night Owl Logo on it. Send to me, I new some parts. I can get the gen 1 Russian image intensfier tube, or you can sen to Night Owl Optics in El Paso, TX.
Some of use think we know what we are doing with NV but without parts or even schematic for them we are sometime not ability to fix these NV devises. I have a couple of suppliers that will provide some image intensifier tubes; of course, on American image tubes all American Citzens can buy them but they are really expensive. The ccfl inver, control board, and even the voltage multiplier needs to be manufactured.

Hello. only if there are some ambient light source. Very light glow. In the dark room with no light you would be luck see you had. It take light to activate the thin plates in the image tube. Check with Night Owl Optics in El Paso, TX. You can check with the large Optic Lens Companies and see what the have to offer. You'll need to get the diameter of the lens opening, thread size in which it will be in mil-meter mm . stewbison
