When trying to print the display says "pls open cover". when I do, i see that all 4 ink cartridges are all the way left. but opening the cover up doesn't do anything. when i close it, it still says pls open cover.

I want to set up to a lap top and i dont have the disc

Windows will probably recognise and set up the printer with generic drivers which may work OK. If you want the official drivers and utilities then download from here:

I have Kyocera FS1010 printer and previosly it was configured with one IP, so I accessed with that through IE and resetted all to change IP add. Now it is showing that 0.0.0.0 only and I am unable...

you can configure it but its too confused the way to do it, you u have to play with the arrows to configure the ip address. let me know where you located or if u have any email address so i can walk you through.

Best Regards

Kyocera FS1010 first page only half printed

I found this solution. Worked a treat. I took the printer apart and applied felts to the solenoids (the felt normally used for the bottom of cup coasters).

See the Success post in this thread...

This manual helped too...

This is the post...

A solution has been found. Thank you to Steveauh (Townsville)

Kyocera in their wisdom have used a foam insulator on the 3 solenoids that disintegrates over time regardless of use.

  1. Open the right side of the printer
  2. Disconnect all connections to engine board
  3. Remove engine board
  4. Remove plastic guard (white)
  5. remove all 3 solenoids
  6. Replace all pads on the solenoids that come up against stops
Registration Solenoid has 2 pads (1 against the solenoid frame and the other on a stop arm, the others just the frame pad)
  7. Keep thickness to around .4 - .5mm Too thick on register arm will cause early printing.
  8. Reassemble

And that is it. The arms were being magnetically delayed due the metallic contact. It seems to be a regular problem in this chassis FS1000 to FS1030.

This could well mean you are going to have to call a Kyocera technician in.
There are a number of reasons this could happen. The teeth on the cog that drives the carriage could be worn. They could also be not engaging properly for a number of reasons.
I would not expect a non tech to try to resolve this.
If you are fairly techeical try to strip the printer down to the carriage feed under the cartridges. Look fro lodged debry or similar or worn teeth on any of the palstic cogs. If you find worn parts you will need to get new from the manufacturer.
Sorry I cant be more helpful.
Let me know how you get on.
