Drivers are not required under xp or vista for this device as they are already built into the OS.
Question ......I have recently bought this device but am experiencing very very slow data tranfers speeds from PC to HD. Are you experiencing the same? I have emailed IONi about this issue.
If you are experiencing any other problems then go to the support section here.....

In your office network, for sure, you have a DHCP server who gave the IP addresses to all devices for that network and this seems to be the reason for why you could see your NAS. On home, you also need a DHCP server. You don't say anything about you home network. The best idea is to just make a temporary network with 2 devices: your computer and your NAS by connecting the NAS directly to your computer's network adapter, set the IPV4 IP for that adapter to the same class addresses as your NAS was set by default (usually NAS had "192.168.x.y" where "x" could be 0, 1 or 2 "y" could be any value between 1 and 254, but mostly, 1) and try to access it via http to manage him (need a user name and a password). For NAS default address and username and password, consult NAS user manual. Access it with from your preferred browser using: \\192.168.x.y
Once you gain the control, cut off his DHCP service and tell him to accept the IP address from the network defined DHCP. (btw: one normal DHCP server is allowed on one network! Cascaded DHCP also is allowed, but it's a little bit complicated)
Good luck!

Belkin N+N storage router doesn't work wirelessly

Hi, I had something like that with my Belkin Router N+N with USB F6D6230-4 V1, only I had a configuration wit a wired XP pc, Wireless XP and Wireless Vista. With both XP pc’s it was really plug and play, but with the Vista pc I had some problems to access the on the router connected USB drive. The Vista pc was connected to the network, and had Inet access. Other shared (network) drives were accessible on the Vista pc.

The first thing I tried was if I could access the drive trough its IP address, (\\routerIP in my case \\192.168.2.1), and I did get a question for a username and password. The only thing is that I tried all the regular names like Admin, Administrator, and so on, with my password but I did not get access.
On the internet there was no help to find for this model router on the Belkin websites (diverent country’s), the data on the Belkin websites is out of date, there is no support to find for new models. ………. So finely I did took the phone and did call the support desk…

Solution to my problem:
The problem seems to be in the Belkin storage manager program, that program works not correct under Vista. When I enter the routers IP and use the username “guest” without a password, it get access to it from my Vista pc. The follow thing I did was press the right mouse button on the drive, and press on “make connection” So..

\\RouterIP
Username : guest
Password : none

Hope, that this is also the solution to your problem.

Bios reports 4 Gb of Memory, OS/ XP Pro sp2 only reports 3 GB, just installed 2 x1 Gb today

This is a limitation of Windows XP. There is no fix. You would have to install Vista to be able to address all 4GB. I would not necessarily recommend this "upgrade" as Vista OS will consume more memory anyway, leaving you less free memory for your applications. The end result may not give you any better performance but there will be much pain in getting everything setup as you had it on XP. On the other hand, if it is a relatively new install and you dont have many customisations, then perhaps the more stable OS would be worth it. Your choice.

User access

what version of vista are you using, this is a very important piece of information, vista home flavors are not very network friendly,I recommend that you keep using XP until a few service packs are out for vista. If your using ultimate then something else would be wrong, possibly a setting on the vista box, Im not real sure how vista's authentication works but if they changed it enough then it might require a compatiblity mode or something in order to authenticate with 2000/xp, but then again i could be wrong and vista might authenticate exactly the same way as 2000/xp, try setting an xp box up as a server and see if the vista box can authenticate with it, if so then maybe 2000 is the problem, sorry i couldnt give an actual solution but im still new to vista myself and dont have any pc's that will run it, my good computers are all macs.

Switching to vista

Im not sure what you mean by restoring. If you upgraded to vista the only way to go back to windows xp is to reformat your hard drive.
