Sound is not working

The below should solve the problem
1. Downloaded the latest driver from support.dell.com from the Downloads and Drivers section.2. Uninstall the Driver from either the Control Panel (Sound Max) or by going to the Device Manager and rightclicking the driver and Uninstall.3. Restart the Computer.4. Install the Driver downloaded.
If the above does not work
a) Faulty hardware is not allowing driver to be installed and sound to come out.b) Corruption in Windows, that would require a new reformat of PC.

How to uninstall codec// no sound when playing games

Uninstalling codec..? For Windows systems, use the "Add/Remove" function on the Control Panel or the the uninstaller of the codec ie if it has one!

No sound -> Check your "Device Manager" if the Audio/Sound devices drivers are correctly installed. If the Sound/Audio are properly installed is there a sound icon on your taskar? Sometimes you have to configure the "Settings/Options/Configurations" of the game software.

Hope it helps.

Device manager is showing PCI Deice missing

Hi you should try the motherboard website for drivers. Usually drivers that come with Windows XP are generic.
Try going in to Device manager, Uninstall the driver and reinstalling the driver that you downloaded from motherboard vendor site.

No sound for windows xp.

Go back into your device manager. Rught click on your sound card or sound device and say uninstall. After it is uninstalled, don't close device manager. Go to very top to your your computer's name or my computer if you didn't name it. Right click and click on scan for hardware changes. Windows will find your device and reinstall in a second. No sound driver found

Usually if its onboard sound or a sound card that came stock with your system Windows Update should be able to find it; go into device manager and uninstall your sound device…then reboot and allow Windows to find your sound device then allow Windows to search Windows Update for the driver (this might take a minute).
