Its not getting a signal from your video card or onboard video.

Are you connected by a VGA cable or a DVI Cable. Or does it have an adapter from VGA to DVI?

Check and see if the moniotr it set to DIGITAL instead of ANOLOGUE. If so, switch to the other.

If you press the monitor settings buttons, does anything show like options to adjust contrast?

If so then it most likely your computer.

Green power light comes on goes off then on again stays solid, moniter says no signal, mouse lights up, and three red lights on key board flash then nothing why?

If the monitor power light is on or flashing, but nothing displays, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor needs replaced.

My dell gx260 ligth come green if i turn it on but for a few mins time it turn orange why

Do you mean the monitor's power light starts green and then turns orange when you turn it on? Most monitors will go to a power saving mode when they do not get a signal from the computer.

The Dell GX260 has a green power light when on. When the computer is off, the light is off. If it is green and blinking, then the computer is in a power saving mode.

Diagnosis: start with the obvious: is the monitor cable plugged into both the computer and the monitor (if not permanently connected to the monitor)? Are you connected to the active port? (You can add a video graphics card in most desktops. The motherboard video port usually needs to be disabled to use the card ports. If you plug in the monitor cable to the disabled port, it won't work.) Is the monitor set to the correct input? (This applies if the monitor has several ports. In that case, there will be a Source or Input button on the monitor.) Is the computer on? The GX260 has the power button on the front. (Other computers have the power button on the top.) There is also the power supply switch on the back which needs to be on.

Next try a different data cable between the monitor and the computer (if you can). Try a different monitor. If a second monitor works, than the monitor has a damaged main board. If the second monitor doesn't work, then the video graphics adapter has probably failed. Replace the add-on card, if in use, then boot in the safe mode to remove the old graphics driver. Then install the correct driver for the graphics adapter.

Note: the computer and the monitor should both be off when you connect the cables. Then turn on the monitor first and set it to the correct source before turning on the computer.)

I hope this helps.

My screen is totally black and will not turn on the computer but the green light is on???

Most likely a screen problem. Are you able to try another monitor with your PC? If a different monitor works, then the problem is your monitor. Most LCD monitors have a rather short life span (well, much shorter than the heavy old CRT monitors). But whichever kind of monitor you have, it seems to be getting power but is unable to display an image.

If your monitor is an LCD monitor, then the problem could be the backlight. If you take it to a computer repair shop, they should be able to replace the backlight - if it's cost effective to do so. Without knowing more about your monitor it's difficult to judge what the best solution might be. Sometimes it's cheaper and easier to get a second hand screen from Ebay rather than fix an obsolete LCD screen. On the other hand, if you bought the monitor within the last 12 months and spent a lot of money on it, it may well be worth getting it fixed.

Good luck!

Dell flat panel monitor -power button blinks green to amber - no

One reason that this is happening could be that it is on Power saving mode. This happens when the LCD monitor detecs an incorrect timing then thats the time that the LCD goes blank and the power botton starts to blink.

what you need to do is to turn the computer off. Unplug cables attach to the LCD make sure it is also off, once done press the power botton for a couple of 30secs to a minute and then release. After doing so re-connect all the cables and make sure that both ends is tight and secure once everything is ok turn the computer on same with the monitor to check if it solves the problem.

I agree. The monitor probably blew a capacitor.
Time for a nice new LCD monitor.
