Question about Panasonic KX-TG5631 Cordless Phone
You might try removing then replacing the battery. After trying everything recommended in the manual this is how I restored normal operation.

Set the phone on the charging cradle and press the ON button while phone is in crade. You may need to use the speakerphone button to do this. Turning the phone on while in the charging cradle will resync your handset with its base. Try it! It should work!

this depends on what phone you have. most pjones when you open the back of the battery cover, their is a connect button really small. look around the base for a connect button and press the base connect button first, then the phone. after abit they should connect to each other. plaese let me know if this does not work

This problem may not just be on handset but base too. try to unplug base from wall power for about 15minutes, plug it again and re-initiate the handset registration process.
