Your coffeemaker is clean after a maximum of 3 cleanings. Unplug the coffeemaker for an hour. When you replug it, the self-clean light should have gone off.

Please give me step by step instructions on how to clean Cuisinart Coffee Maker, Model #DCC-1100. Thank You!

Fill water reservoir with 1/3 carafe distilled white vinegar, 2/3 carafe water and hit the self-clean button - it will take about 35 mins to complete. When it is done, it will beep like it normally does when brewing regular coffee. Self-clean light should go off after this. If it doesn't, simply unplug the machine for 20 minutes or longer. The manual is available for your inspection on the Cuisinart website.

After cleaning my Cuisinart DCC 1150

Hello sammar2,
This is a really common problem with the cuisinarts. I am most familiar with the DCC-1200, but you may be able to solve the problem. The light being on is an indication that something is plugged up. Open the top of the unit and in one of the corners you should find a filter stick or column that is removable. Pull it out and open it up to clean out the clogged up carbon filter in there. (You can later buy a new filter on Amazon.) Clean out the debris from the bottom of the cavity. Replace the stick into the cavity once cleaned. Now it's time to run through a solution of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Do this once or twice with fresh solutions, then with a pot of fresh water. When the filter stick is plugged up the sensor says its time to clean it, but most people don't know about this fix. I hope this is helpful to you, sanmar. Positive feedback is appreciated. Good luck. NormanZ

Cleaning light is blinking and I lost my Manuel. What do I do??

Put 1/3 caraffe distilled white vinegar into caraffe and 2/3 caraffe water. Pour into water reservoir. Press the self-clean button - it may take a while for this process to complete. After it is finished, the self-clean light may or may not go off (esp. if it is a DCC-1100 series). If the light does not go off, just unplug the coffeemaker from the wall outlet for an hour. The manual is available from Cuisinart's website.

Self Clean Button

Unplug the coffeemaker for 1 hour or longer - it should reset the coffee maker and get rid of that self-clean light.

Clean light keeps blinking

I had the same problem, cleaning light coming on, etc, lots of "steam" coming out the tip. The problem is constriction by lime deposits at the top of the tube leading to the "coffee chamber" We used "Better Brew", available from Environmental Care Products in Norwalk CT. With this product, the problem gradually disappeared. We had previously cleaned the system with vinegar, but this didn't work. Now we have nice coffee again!

Dcc-1200 not working

Probably dead, but:

Here is the basic troubleshooting for the Cuisinart coffee makers:
Make sure all baskets are in proper place – especially if unit is beeping.
Do not use a paper and a gold-tone or other permanent filter at the same time.
Unplug for LONGER THAN 15 full minutes to reset.
Clean by brewing 2 oz of distilled white vinegar/2 oz water.
If these methods fail, the unit probably requires replacement – call Cuisinart as they have a longer-than-standard warranty.

Quisinart DCC 1100 Series Coffeemaker

Hello sjones29,
This should be an easy fix. In one of the corners, under the top of the lid, you will find a water filter stick with a carbon filter that is likely clogged. Pull it out and remove the filter. Shine a light into the cavity of the unit and clean out the debris that may be in there. Replace the filter holder. (You can buy more filters on Amazon inexpensively). Filters are good for about 60 days. Then do a run through of water/vinegar solution. It should be 2 parts water and 1 part water. When done, run through a pot of fresh water to rinse. This should stop the light from blinking and make it so you can enjoy some great coffee.
Hope this helps and good luck! I appreciate positive feedback. :o) Thanks. NormanZ
