I deleted some old songs off of my player, but the player says they are still there, and can still play the songs... My computer says the files are not there, but my sansa can still play them... I've had the player since X-mas, and it's been working fine for me until now... I have no idea what to do...

Re: Songs won't delete, and still play
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

We Too had a hard time deleting a song but found the solution..... Put the mp3 play in the MSC mode through the settings do not put in auto.....when your computer prompts that the music player is connected it will have a screen that asks play music, open folder to veiw files..... or take no action... you neew to click on the open folder to veiw files..... when this screen loads find the song or songs that you want to delete right click and then delete it will only delete from the mp3 player.....took me two days of pissing with this mp3 player to figure it out......
There are some songs that I don't want and I wish to delete them. But I don't know how to do that. I tried to delete songs on my media player but that won't work. is there some solution to this? Please walk me through this in the most easy way possible if you can.
If you want to delete EVERY track off the player, then reformat the player in Windows Media Player - it's a shortcut - see my "tips and tricks" on formatting mp3 players If there are artist, album traces, then you need to click on every subfolder under your device in Windows Media Player and delete every trace that way - tedious, but effective -Tha Mp3 Doctor There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files
And when you run it, click the checkbox for "Format Data Area." When the message comes up saying you want to delete all the files, click "yes-" it's worth deleting all your songs if it works properly afterwards. You'll have to re-sync your songs and the downloads take forever, but it works.
when you synch your device to windows media player 11 on the side bar under the name of your device says songs click on it then find the songs you don't want right click and delete as for the songs that won't play i'd say it's probably because it doesn't support the format of the music
Go to Windows Media Player under the Sync tab, over on the far left should be the name of the player, click on it and find the name of the song by album title, artist, or whatever, click on the title and click delete and you should be able to delete any song you like without deleting them all
You can delete them from yahoo music jukebox, you click on the rca 100 in the left menu bar and when the songs come up right click on the songs you don't want and it will say play, delete, etc. click on delete and it will delete it from your player.
YOUR NOT GOING TO HAVE THE OPTION ON THE MP3 PLAYER, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION WHEN YOU LOAD IT TO THE COPUTER. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RIGHT CLICK ON THE SONGS THAT YOU WANT REMOVED AND SELECT DELETE. I HOPE THAT WORKS FOR YOU.
