Question about NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router
HOW DO YOU INSTALL SOFTWARE DISC TO AN APPLE COMPUTER,HAVE PUT INSTALATION DISC IN BUT CANT GET IT TO RUN EVEN BY CLICKING ON AUTORUN.EXE,I WANT TO SET UP A NETWORK PASSWORD TO PREVENT ANYONE ELSE USING MY WIRELESS CONNECTION TA ARTHUR
To do this you do not need the installation disk.
1. Click Start, Run, CMD, enter. Type 'ipconfig /all' and write down or remember the ip address for your default gateway.
2. open your browser and type http://192.168.1.1 (or whatever the ip address is for your default gateway.) hit enter.
3. In the username and password login screen type admin for both. If this doesn't work, try using admin for just the password, if no luck try again for just the username, until you are logged in.
4. Go to wireless settings, security, and find the part where you can set your wireless password. It is also a good idea to use wpa personal instead of wep, because it is a stronger encryption method.
