Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

open the device manager and see if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the sound ... if there is .. uninstall whats there and right click and scan for new hardware... if the driver is not found you will need to reinstall anew driver froom the Manufacturer ...

open the case and remove the sound card .. there should be a name like Creatve on it and it will have some sort of number /name to it

Sound problems after reinstallation of windows

Did you install it to the factroy default installation or did you install windows anew?

You need to install the Dell sound drivers. They're found on the dell home page or on your media that came with the Optiplex.

Also, check the system control / administtration / hardware section to see if windows potted a problem with the hardware.

No sound on my PC

hi..
First check to see if any external speakers work with it, then check the device manager to see if there is any conflict between the laptop and the internal speakers, if there is conflict try and resolve it, the check the speaker drivers, ,then adjust the sound levels and test the speakers, If they still dont work, take the laptop in for service...

thank u

Windows

First try to to restore to an earlier date ,if it ran well before on this version  of windows. Go to the company website and find your model and download the updated drivers and install them. This will help speed it up. Clean and defrag the harddrive.    If this doesn't work for you, download the original restore cd,again from the company website for your model and reinstal it.
If you are not desiring to have the original windows version then you only options are to either find the Windows disk that you lost or buy a new one.
