Brother MFC-420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer

Not printing (by 3 users)

I changed to brother inks, printing in cyan only and the other parts of the page is not printing, black not printing at all, cleaned, all the tips I used, ready to never buy a brother,

I was sold another ink in the mall for the printer and , yes, it never worked since. It was only the black. The other inks was brother's ink.

I have since cleaned out the ink from the viens, but could not get to the head, any help of cleaning the head.

But I have used other printers, with the mall inks and it has worked, well, I have learned my lesson.

As for Brother, I wish they will, introduce one black and one for color, cost wise for overburdened cost for inks.

Thanks for the feed back.

I can tell you all without a doubt in my mind you all have been using "cheaper" inks, wont matter a bit now if you put real brother ones in, it is too late the contaminated, incorrect ink type or particle size ink, is in the veins(ink tubes) of your printer and have reached the head which is now blocked. You cant fix blocked brother heads, and they are too expensive to replace.

You don't notice you stuffed your printer with dodgy ink till it is too late, sure they work sometimes, but what you find most of the time is that after a while about 1/8 of a cartridge of use, your new dodgy inks travel the veins until they inject poison into the head and stuff it forevermore.

Expect without a doubt in your mind any modern inkjet printer fitted with dodgy ink will not see 2 years old.

I see thousands of machines broken from block heads, the only old printers I've seen are uses of nothing but manufactures product.

I not selling you a machine, brand or supplies, just telling you how it is.

Refill and aftermarket ink will always cost not save you money.
unless you can find a supplier of such inks/toners to fix it free when it breaks from their supplies or guarantee you a refund of repair costs if found to be due to their product.

Guest ...Throw in bin due to stuffed head and it is too late the contaminated, incorrect ink type or particle size ink, is in the veins(ink tubes) of your printer and have reached the head which is now blocked. You cant fix blocked brother heads, and they are too expensive to replace.

jeromecres on very rare occasions will one ever unblock a brother head. Sometimes like 1/1000 a power purge with brother ink gets the hunk of junk out of the way of the flow to the electronic heater element that fires the ink particle in the head.

Press the Menu/Set, Black Start, Menu/Set, and Black Start keys in this order to enter maintence mode then 76 set 4 set 1 set... i think , display should read after entering 76 "cleaning", then you want "init" purge, then "all" ..... if you aint got number pad use arrows to change digits.

Watch what you are doing my numbers may be out of order ie 76-4-1 might be 76-1-4 .

THATS IT ALL OF YOU FUTURE BROTHER NON GENUINNE INK USES WHO HAVE STUFFED THE HEAD ON A TWO BOB PRINTER. throw IT IN bin !!!

USE REAL INK NEXT TIME.

BETTER STILL PRINT WITH TONER AKA LASER BASED MACHINES... HEAPS CHEAPER RUNNING COST (use NON REFILLED IN THOSE TOO)

THE 420 IS THE SAME ENGINE AS
MFC620CN/425CN/420CN/410CN/215C/210C
DCP315CN/310CN/120C/117C/115C/110C
and FAX2440C SO LOOK IN THOSE THREADS TOO.

99 exits Maintence mode........
