I went on and did an online chat and the guy told my husband what to do. I had to pay $20 for him to do that so I guess I don't need this assistance. Thanks

Hi:
This message is and indicator that the heat exhaust fan is failing. this fan removes the heat produced by the lamp. I suggest you just replace the fan entirely. Vacuuming it will not solve your problem as the bearings in the fan assembly is faulty. The fans sense wire is reporting to the main system control board that it is not turning at the right speed to keep the unit at a safe heat level.

I got the same problem as Brenda1717 with my Samsung 650 series. I open up the back cover and clean the fan, it worked for a few hours. just turn the TV on again after turning it off for a couple of hours, the message appears again and kept turning itself off after a few minutes. I guess, cleaning it will only work temporary and have to replace the fan.

You need to test the fan if it is working or not or better replace the fan with a new one.there must be shortage of voltage coming from the fan thats why the unit turn itself off.over heating of components near the fan might be the cause because your fan is malfuntioning thats why you got a keep getting the message check the fan better replace it..

For HL-T5087SA DLP I have lost all inputs to tv. Can't turn off or on with main control in center. All remote functions do not function.

is there a reset button on the tv? on some electronice devices, if you hold down the power button for about 15 seconds, the unit will reset.

Where is "fan #2" in Samsung dlp hl-r5656w?

I don't know which is fan #2 but if you take the back off, you will see one fan right in front of you. The other is harder to get to. It's the black box inside the silver covering with the holes (in left lower part).

My TV was acting up by having only one color showing until I let it cool down then it would work fine. I cut a hole in the plastic back cover and mounted a bigger computer fan. Just spliced it in the wires of the little fan. Fixed the problem

I have a Samsung HL-T5087SA DLP TV and it keeps saying "Check Fan #1" and after a few minutes the TV goes off. Do you know how to fix it?

Well I suppose the first thing to do is see that FAN#1 is actually doing the job! If not then replace it.

If it;s turning off then there is a rise in temperature that is causing t6he sail safe sensor to sw2itch off to protect against further damage or even fire

Samsung HL-R6768W started making squeal noise from rear of TV. At same time lost picture and will not come back on. Sound is ok and you can hear light trying to turn on. Can fan motor not working correctly...

Look at the fan and verify its comming from the fan and not the power supply unit, you can clean the fan or replace it, but yes the fan would be likly the problem. Make sure you double check the power supply unit and clean if its needed,
