Intermittent water leak from left hand bottom exterior, ruined hardwood flooring. Found thin sheet of ice at bottom of freezer compartment.
Solution: Unplugged fridge; removed food. Then opened cover panel over coils and fan. found layer of frost over coils and thick ice in defrost collector channel. Carefully removed melting ice with plastic spatula. Found drain hole plugged solid. Heated about 1/2 cup water and poured small amount over drain to melt ice and sopped with towel. Gently put small screw driver in drain hole. Still frozen. Waited short period, added hot water two more times observing dissipation. Eventually, drain tube unplugged itself.
Now backin service, waiting to see if problem is larger, such as defrost heater malfunction. If so, buy new fridge, different brand, because rather than trust factory certified Sears or Maytag repairmen who overprice repair parts.

We had the same problem (including ruined wood cabinetry). After a replaced water pump, replaced water filter, and several repairman visits, a hair was found to have blocked the drain. The leak has stopped, but now the water dispenser doesn't work.
Don't know if these issues are related or not.
