Question about Phones

1 Answer

To whom it may concern, I purchased a Vtech 5.8 phone in December 2007, I followed the instructions and the phone doesn't keep it's charge, and there is a lot of static, so I returned the phone in March thinking that maybe the phone was defective so I exchanged it for a new one. Once again it does not keep it's charge and there is a lot ot static. Could someone please advise me as to what I should do? I really like the phone and would like to keep the same brand but I don't want to have to keep exchanging it every three months! Thanking you in advance. Carole Page

The static problem would probably not be from the phone, rather from your phone line either inside your house or outside.

MY CORDLESS PHONE BATTERY KEEPS DYING

You could try leaving it on charge a bit longer but if it keeps happening it either means dock doesn't charge the battery any longer (check for the charging symbol on the phone when in dock), or the battery in the phone has had its days.

My Vtech has three units, a main phone and three additional sets. Should I replace all the batteries in all three, and where do I find an approved vendor?

Hello,
No it is not necessary to change the batteries of all the unit if they are still keeping the charge long enough.
Please follow this link and select your model to order a new battery.

I have a three handset 6.0 v tech. the one handset keeps beeping. What is going on?

With vtech phone (many times) a beeping handset indicates a low battery or an inability to connect to base station. check to make sure the battery is connected correctly and that the phone is setting in its docking station correctly. (remover and obstructions that would prevent correct charging) If this fails go to your local store that sells batteries for cordless phones and purchase to correct type.

Low battery

You need to buy new batteries for your phones. Large retailers charge $10-12 per battery but you can usually find them for closer to $4 online at amazon.com or eBay.

VTech 5.8 mhz won't work

I found a solution that fixed this problem (at least for me). On the vtech site they said to unplug the base unit for at least 5 minutes. Previously, I had only unplugged the base unit for a few seconds. This time, I left it unplugged for about 10 minutes or so and when I plugged it back in, everything was working fine. Apparently there is some sort of capacitor that must discharge long enough to completely remove power from the circuitry.

Good luck and I hope this works for you!
