How do i reset my admin bios password

If you dont know the password you must remove the CMOS battery for 30 sec unless you can find a program online that will do it and I have found none

Son cannot remember the password/admin password to boot his dell inspiron 2200 win xp i am willing to reinstall win xp but dell wants twice the cost of what this box is worth.

The only solution I can offer is, go to www.ebay.com type in laptop, make and model, administration password, you should get a list of software that should help, remember when you purchase, it is for win xp

try to see if you can login thru safe mode when you boot the pc kep pressing f8 until you are able to see safe mode display

do some google searching. Most laptops have a jumper that can be shorted on the mainboard to reset the bios password. also, some programs have been written to do it as well. Google is your friend here

I am trying to restore factory on a dell inspiron 1521 and i is asking for an administrator password the only password i know i put in and it is not accepting it

If Administrator is the username, the password should be blank or none. (leave it blank) just click on Ok and it will go straight to the option of System Restore, Complete PC restore, Dell factory image restore. etc.. Hope this helps

you can go to safe mode and get it or you can displace the jumper inside located on mother board and erase that created password

I was given a inspiron 1521 but once it is turned on it ask for a password. It says that administrator has to put it in. I talked to previous owner and password has been lost. How can I reset the password.

This removes bios password from any Dell machine. unrar it and Burn the Boot CD, and then Boot to it.

Hi,

The Admistarator is disabled by default on Vista and Windows 7 so there is no easy way of resetting your password.

You will need to download "Petter Nordhal-Hagen’s NT Password & Registry Editor"
Download the CD boot image from the link that i have provided below and burn the image to a CD (you will need a working computer with a CD burner for this) then just follow the instructions on the website and you should have your password reset within 10 minutes.

Try Admin as your Username
then Admin as password ... I believe that is by default....

You mean administrator password or just admin? Administrator is the default built-in account and possibly Admin is an additional account created during the Operating System Installation. If there's any other active user account (with administrative rights), you can unlock it easily, but if there's none, then you may need to use a third party software, which we are not allowed to provide those information herein (coz it's illegal). I would suggest you to call a tech and let him/her solve it for you. Technicians are allowed to use the software or tricks since they are authorized.
