I couldn't find any warranty information on this iron, but I suspect that the heating element either has a faulty connection or part of it has cracked, making contact at time, but poor contact at other times. The unit will have to be taken apart and inspected and troubleshot, and that's why I was inquiring about the warranty. Someone in a review of them said that their website and 800 number weren't working, so you might try to refer to your manual that came with it for support. Another person who uses them regularly said they just last for about 3 years before needing to be replaced. If the warranty isn't valid for you, I would disassemble it and try to see if an electrical connection to the element is cracked, perhaps, or has heat damage, then try to secure it. If the element's cracked or damaged by heat, it will need to be replaced. There's a chance the control unit's faulty, and any fix could run into some money. If you do have it serviced, get an estimate first. Sometimes it's just better to bite the bullet and get a new one. Good luck, and hope this helps.
