Sony DCR-TRV350 making a loud metallic whirling...

posted by milkman08 on Apr 15, 2008

Hello,

I have a Sony DCR-TRV350 handycam making a loud metallic whirling noise when either you start recording or when you hit play. The major issue I have is the recording is picking the sound up and you can hear it rather well in the play back. I think the sound is coming from the recording head (if that's the right term). I have tried different tapes and blowing the internal parts with can air. Nothing has changed the noise. Something I can do to fix the problem or around how much would it cost to fix?

Thanks!
