Oh thats easy.!. Well here we go: First you need a screwdriver, and a calm hand and patience; then we can start...

  1. Power off your computer
  2. Disconnect all cabling at the back of the computer. Maybe you want to note which cable goes where so that later it is easier for you to put back the cables.
  3. Open your computer case (the one that is opposite of the motherboard.
  4. Now you can either use a "digital camera" ro assist you; so you make pictures of the board configurations, or you can make drawings to guide you (You probably want to put a new motheroard into the PC so you also want to know where the cables will go right ???
  5. Disconnect your cables from your motherboard that come from your power supply. Also disconnect the wires going to your drives ( CD-ROM, DVD) that come from the Power supply.
  6. Now disconnect your Data cables ( IDE or SATA cables) that run from your CD-ROM / DVD and hard drives. Just remember their configeration.
  7. Now, disconnect the other cables, mainly audio, cpu fan cable, chassis fan cable and audio drive through cables and any other cables attached to your MB.
  8. Next up we have the removal of devices that are direclty attached to your MB. Remove the RAM (Do not touch the RAM on the chips, rather hold it at the sides), remove all add in PCI cards like network card, graphics card etc and put them in seperate anti-static containers
  9. Now its time to get the proc: Remove the heatsink+fan by unscrewing it from the MB; there must be four screws around the MB. If you have removed the Heatsinkwithfan, you will see the proc. There must be either a little switch, a screw or lever to "release the proc" from its "socket" otherwise you will damage your proc and or your motherboard. If you have released the lever, you can remove the proc. lay it somewhere, so that its pins or chips lie down.
  10. Check if there are addional devices that need to be removed.
  11. Next, unscrew the MB from the casing, There should be about 6-12 screws on the MB.
  12. All done: All you need to do now is remove the motherboard slowly from its rest, take it out and put it somewhere safe
  13. All done
Next up would be: How do I install a motherboard.

Kind Regards,
Dominik

Dell dhm capacitors

There might be screws that hold the motherboard to the metal cover or there is a latch that you can press that will make it slide out.

It's easier to replace the motherboard than try to fix the capacitors.

I don't know what motherboard it is that i have to download the users manual can you please.....please help me

Turn off the PC. Remove the side panel from the case. Get a flashlight and inspect the mother board. You're looking for a number to identify the type of mother board. ASUS mother boards usually place this number just to the left of the memory slots. It's usually 5 or 6 digit long and made up of both letters and numbers. One of my computers with a ASUS mother board is a P5LD2. Once you know this number you can go to http://support.asus.com/ and download updated drivers for *********** board. You may need to identify what type of socket *********** has. If you have a fairly recent Intel microprocessor you probably have a socket 775 mother board. If it's an AMD microprocessor it's probably a SocketAM2 or AM3. You might have to do some searching if these choices don't work. I hope this advice helps you out.

THE SCREEN SMEARS NAD SHUTS DOWN

Hi eakesj:
A number of things here should be checked.
First shut down and remove all cards, and power connections to all the drives such as cdroms, hard drives.
The power supply should also be looked at and tested for correct voltages on each wire. This can be done with a voltage meter.
Turn on the power and see if you can get the machine to start to the bios screen. (this will work if you have a video processor on board, if you have a video card, you will need it to use the monitor).
If that will not work, then you have more problems than you thought at the beginning.
If the mother board will not work at this point, then you have problems with either the mother board or the cpu processor. There is a possibility that there are problems with the memory modules.
So, if you have only one memory module, then I would remove the memory, carefully clean the contacts, (a clean pencil eraser can work, if you are careful, and do not press very hard) and then plug the memory back in and try again. Also if you have extra modules of the same type, try one for testing.
If you are still having the same problems, then the mother board or the cpu is the problem. At this point you should consider if you want to continue and repair or buy another mother board of the same size. If you buy another kind of mother board, remember you will have to re-install your operating system over the original one to get the complete setup and the bios to work correctly with it. Many times this can be done, but you risk losing data (you will lose all data in MY DOCUMENTS), and may have to completely re-install the OS. You may want to install the drive in another computer as a slave and back up any data you want to save before you proceed.
If you decide to continue with your original mother board, and still have problems, then the cpu or the mother board is suspect. To test the cpu, either test your board with another cpu which is compatible, or check the mother board with another mother board of the same exact model.
Hope you find the problem.
