E-4 will not clear

Code E-4 on display after making a copy. code will not reset or clear, until turned off for several minutes.

Error code sc545


The Error Code SC542 or Sc546 could be a caused by a few reasons. There is a temperature problem with the fuser unit, the roller thermistor is bad, or the BCU Board is bad.
1 metode to reset Ricoh Error code sc542:
To clear the code:
Hit the yellow "Clear Modes" key
Press 107 on the number pad
Press and hold the "Clear Stop" for 10 seconds until you get a new screen ...
Press the "Copy SP" Button on the display
Open the front door
Turn front left power switch off and on
Shut the door
The error code is now cleared.
reset Ricoh Error code sc542:
To Enter and Exit the SP Mode
1. Press yellow "Clear Modes" key .
2. On the operation panel keypad, press 107 number
3. Hold down red "Clear" key more than 10 seconds.
The Copy SP is displayed.
4. Press "Copy SP" and go to the code SP5810, press "Execute"
5. To exit the SP mode, just press Exit in the upper right corner of the SP mode
screen. Power switch off and on and the error code is now cleared.

My Xerox XC 1040 lights are on but it will not copy. There is a H and a 4 that comes up on the small screen. We have had several lightning storms in this area lately. We have turned it off and also...


The lightning can cause this code. The good news is that also means it is most likely a false code. Reset this code by pressing the Clear key then the Far Left key on the control panel also known as the exposure mode key. Then press clear again followed by far left again. So in short form press C, Far Left, C, Far Left. If done fast enough and properly your display should go blank. Now key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies and press the print button. This should reset your H4 and the machine should be restored to operational. If the code comes back within a minute or so then you have a failure in the fuser unit (part that gets hot)

I have a H3 error code on a xerox workcentre Pro 215. What do I do to clear it?


This should correct it.

NOTE: Some Status codes will not clear even though the problem has been fixed. Status codes that will not clear must be manually reset using the 'Fault Reset 14 Procedure'.
  1. Locate the [C] (Clear) button on the Control Panel, at the far right.
  2. Locate the Image Quality button, below the Auto on the Control Panel, toward the left side.
  3. Press the buttons in the following sequence within 4 seconds. Press [C] (Clear), press [Image Quality], press [C] (Clear) again, press [Image Quality] again.
  4. The error code should disappear. If the Status code does not clear, repeat step 3 until the status code clears; but no more than five times.
  5. Use the [10] and [1] buttons to enter 14 on the Display Screen, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  6. Press the [Start] button. The machine should be ready to use.
  7. Make a copy, to check that the machine is working properly.

H-4 error code is displayed.


What you want to do, it turn the maachine off and on, then press Cleat, Auto, Clear, Auto. That is the pinkish clear button and the auto exposure button. Press in order Clear, Auto, Clear, Auto, the display will go blank. Enter the number 14, enter that as if you were going to make 14 copies, press start, That will reset the machine and it should run fine.

IF these steps do not work you will have to replace the fuser or fuser heat rod then perform the reset.
