My television is working fine but 1920 x 1080P will not work properly when I try to use this television as a PC monitor. I searched the Mitsubishi website for some kind of update, but found nothing.

Vertical lines more likely to be caused by bad T-CON board, you need to check the connections between the T-CON board and the main logic board, it can possibly be the main logic board also.

There are 3 vertical lines on either side of the screen. How can I get rid of them?

This can be a defective T-con module or Control module. Best to have it diagnosed by your local service center. It's to costly to play a guessing game.

Vertical lines atarting about 2 from left side and are approx 1' wide ussualy multi colored but sometimes brown intermitten sometimes as little as five minutes and sometimes as long as 1/2 an hour usually...

That is bad sign of the bad LCD panel itself, but you can try replacing the LCD driver board first. The new LCD panel will be very EXPENSIVE! It will get worst as time goes by.

Mitsubishi 40" TV, LT-40134 Vertical lines on left side of screen

I've got the same TV with the same problem. Sometimes by moving it on the stand the lines will go away but it only sometimes temporarily fixes the problem. For a while it seemed like it needed to heat up to go away but that is not the case. It seems like there is a bad connection somewhere but i cant seem to find it. One day, one thing will fix it, then the next day it wont do the trick. It gets very irritating.

42 inch samsung plasma tv black vertical lines

Hi, Depeending on the thickness of the lines matters. If the lines are Black and about 1-2 inches thick it may be a bad bottom buffer board or a bad panel (screen).
If the lines are thin 1/16 to 1/8 inch it is most likely a bad panel.
You can open up the set and depending on the model, see the thin board/boards running across the bottom with ribbon cables going to the panel. You may be able to attempt reseating the ribbon cables, but be careful as some retainer plugs break very easy.
If the lines are thick black and the reseating doesn't correct it you may be able to buy the coresponding buffer. Unfortunately some bottom buffers are actually part of the panel. If you are not comfortable taking it apart then call a professional but be aware labor charges start around $200 not counting parts, panels start at $600 up to over $1000
hope this helps
Thanks
Eric

Vertical lines on my 40 inch lcd mitsubishi hdtv 1080

Similar problem with an eleven and a half month old LT-40148. Approx. 1 inch vertical banding line on left side of screen on all inputs. After about two weeks, same problem on the right side of the screen.

Fortunately this occurred two weeks prior to the one year warranty expiring.

Called Mits customer service and they referred me to an authorized service center who I happened to have dealt with before.

They picked up the set. The front panel (LCD screen ) had to be replaced. Set was gone for two weeks as parts were not in stock. There was no charge. I hope this screen last more than a year.
