Question about Panasonic PT-AE900U Multimedia Projector

Out of focus center of picture

I have had the projector for 2 years now and no problem. Since I replaced the lamp, I have an out of focus center of my picture. Green color halo / shadow effect.

The rest of the outside picture is very good.

It's probably you have a busted DMD chip, have your technician replace that, better yet buy a new projector because replacing that chip costs almost a brand new unit.

The projector is approximately 4 years old & on average runs for about 60 hours per week, 40 weeks of the year. After fitting a new lamp last October & resetting the projector, the image is still...

Additional information is required for us to assist. Can you better describe what you mean by "poor image"? Are the colors separated? Is the picture out of focus? Are the colors wrong?

Please describe the picture or post a picture of the screen if you can.

Thanks,
Dan

Brightness of the projector is poor

it may be the fly-eye lens. it tends to fry due to excessive dust and heat. it'll need to be replaced. there are 2 of them. the first one is right inside the lamp housing. the second one is on the other side of that. the 2nd one is the one that is bad. you'll have to send it back in for repair. nec doesn't sell individual parts.

if the lamp is relatively new, the colorwheel might be coated with dust. the heat bakes it on. you can try to clean it, but you might end up having to replace it. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good.

Projector produces very low light.

My recommendation is that since you have 2 of these machines and the other is working fine,

Pull out the lamp from the good one and place it in the faulty one.

Turn it on and check the projection quality if it is still blurry. If it is working good, then replace the lamp. If it is still blurry, a good cleaning to the lens on the projector may be a good idea.

You can also check the auto focus function of the projector and the cable that provides the video signal to the projector

You can get the manual from below link if you need to find out how to check the auto focus setting

Lamp come on for 3 seconds than goes out.

Try this: There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.

Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.
