I went with Cerwin Vega for my speakers and they have been great. You can find them at Best Buy I believe or even order over Amazon.com (shipping is always high). Be careful buying over eBay unless they are like new or new--you don't know how they've been used or abused in that case. I have 4 smaller bookshelf speakers for the surround and back surround, an LW12 subwoofer, and some 10" Cerwin Vega L9 units for the front. I also bought a nice CV center channel speaker--went a big bigger and better on that unit as it plays the voices on 5.1 and 7.1 surround.

You may have to connect the subwoofer output to a powered subwoofer.

How do I hook up my lifestyle 20 . I bought it second hand and my speakers have wires.

Hi Mark,

I'm assuming you have the original speaker cables that came with the system (it looks like the connectors on the small speaker side are not standard connectors). If that is the case, the two smaller speakers should connect to the Left and Right 'Output to Cube Speakers' plugs on the larger subwoofer box. A 3rd cable from that subwoofer box should connect from the "audio input" connector on that box to the to the "Speaker zone 1" plug on the main unit.

Plug both the main unit and the subwoofer into power outlets, turn them both on and you should be all set. If you click on the link below, pages 7 - 8 of the owner's guide have a good description and pictures of this configuration. The rest of that guide may come in handy too.

I hope this helps,

Where do the cables go for pic and sound

You can find the manual here if you need a copy.

This system was sold with speakers and connecting cables. One cable connects from the main unit to the subwoofer. The rest of the speakers supplied with the system plug into the subwoofer with their special connecting cables. If you don't have the subwoofer and satellite speakers along with the cables, you can't get sound out of this system. There is no built-in amplifier and no way to connect speakers otherwise.

The video connection to your monitor or TV is from the rear panel on the main unit. You can use an s-video cable, composite video (a single cable with RCA plugs) or component video (3 RCA cables), depending on the inputs supplied on the TV. Component video gives best performance if the TV supports it.

Simple question?? how do I connect my Panasonic subwoofer to my denon receiver?

I have a very similar problem with the same exact Panasonic sub. I went to Best Buy and Radio Shack looking for an adapter, and they basically told me that one does not exisit. Apparently, Panasonic designed the home theater system specifcally so that it could not work if any part of the entire system was ever seperated.

Power issues: will not turn off or function

Unplug all of the speakers and power on.Its possible that one of the speakers is causing the protection circuit to activate. If powered on and subwoofer works start reconnecting one speaker at a time( after powered off) and retest each time. One Speaker may be bad.Its also possible the output ic is failing under a speaker load. There are no fuses related to this issue. If its not a speaker problem then the subwoofer will need to be serviced.

No sound, subwoofer or speakers

Er so you plug the speakers into anther system and they work? Blindingly obvious but there is no fault with the speakers.

SUBWOOFER WON'T POWER ON (Grounding out???)

Check your cable that runs between the main unit and sub for bent pins. If they look fine there may be a short in the sub itself that is causing it to go in to shutdown.
