Re: cracked psp screen
Youll have to open it up and look if the screen is cracked or the cover, the screen is behind the clear perspex of the outer case. If its the screen then this will help: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LCD-SCREEN-REPLACEMENT-For-PSP-SHARP-W-BACKLIGHT-Tool_W0QQitemZ200215724197QQihZ010QQcategoryZ127746QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'm not sure exactly what your deal is, but i have a similar problem. my screen was cracked, i replaced it, and when i turn it on or off, the screen goes all white. I'm guessing this is somewhat along the lines of normal. but if you still think something is wrong, call sony, and they should tell you what the deal is.
keeping Lithium ion batteries(found in ur psp) idle for such a long time without charging may discharge them compleatly and even if you try to charge them they will not function. this seems to be a problem with your battries not ur PSP. try to get it replaced from the dealer you bought the PSP from.
hope this solves your problem.. :D
I recommend seeing an expert. I heard that to replace the internal screen only costs about 20 dollars if you do it yourself. You should look into buying a new screen(internal) but about the leaking LED's you should really try to see an expert or get some support from Sony.
what you need to do is go to a service center and have the lcd replaced. there is no remedy for a cracked screen. btw, if you can buy just the lcd and have someone else install that, you can save a lot of money rather than sending it to a certified psp service center.
