Question about Computers & Internet

Mirus Desktop Computer

I have just recently installed a new DVD burner in my computer and now the computer will not turn on. While removing the DVD burner I had to remove the face plate of the tower and I think that some of the wires have been removed from the motherboard and I do not know the correct order for them to be put back. The wires I am referring to are the ones to the front face piece, ie power sw., etc. The colors are (1) green (1) white (1) blue-white together (1) orange-white together (1) red-white together.

Green-white for front panel Power indicator LED , Blue-white for RESET Switch , Orange-white for POWER BUTTON , Red-white for HDD LED . The berg pin header on the motherboard will have these legend printed just beside the connector or due to lack of space slightly away from it .

The switch mode power supply in the desktop computer has failed. Most likely the capacitors in the power has exploded.
You need to open the desktop computer and remove the old power supply and replace it with a new one. Take the old power supply with you to your friendly computer shop and get a replacement power supply with the same wattage or greater wattage.

When is the Hipro HP-A2007AE power supply cooling fan to be on?

The fan should run constantly. It needs to be replaced. Otherwise the power supply will shut down when it gets hot. It can usually be replaced, but if the supply is cheap, just go out and get a new one.

With destop wont turn on

Robert was right make sure your computer is unplug from the power strip. now check the power supply cable to the mother board, then check the power cable to the harddrive, and then the DVD.once you put the power cable back into the computer you should get the power supply fan should come on, and the cpu fan should come on.

Next once you hit the on/off switch and green light should come on.

Possible power supply problem

Open your computer case and disconnect/remove any hard drives, cd-rom/dvd drives, take out any extra cards installed (except video card unless you have onboard then take out the video card too) and all but one stick of ram. Turn the computer on
- if it turns on, plug in each item back one at a time turning back on and off each time ( power trip will cause the pc to not turn on)
- if you smell anything weird from the PSU unit DO NOT try anything further, replace the unit.
- if you have overclocked your computer, use the jumper on the board and reset your bios
In the event you need to replace your PSU unit if Antec is an option, go with that. They are very stable.

Flashing Green Light on Power BESTEC Power Supply

Hi. NO, *********** board is not fried. I am not sure what the problem is but I do know how to fix it. It is usually casued by power outages (even if you have UPS supply).

1. TAKE OUT THE ELECTRICITY LEAD TO THE COMPUTER. Look inside the computer and find the bunch of wires coming from the power supply unit (the box thing at the top with the fan and all those colouted wires!).

2. Find where these wires run into a plastic connector and plug into the mother board. Unplug it.

3. Now plug the electicity lead back into the computer. The light should now stay ON.

4. Plug in the connector again... and boot up. Leave it run a while to convince it!

5. Repeat this process if it does not work first time.

This should fix your problem . It works for me when I get this problem.

You need a new power switch. I am currently working on a S4020WM with the same problem. I cut one wire to the power switch, then used a paper clip to make a jumper to start the machine. It has run fine since then. The only trouble I am having is finding a replacement switch.
