You are using too much oil. Oil the steak and drop it into the hot pan. You can also use a spatter screen.

How do you clean a wok without ruining it?

After use;

1. Rinse your wok in warm soapy water and remove any food from the inside surface.

2. If you need to clean the wok more thoroughly you can do it in hot water but don't use any soap or chemicals.

3. Dry the wok with a towel

4. A properly seasoned wok won't give off any black smudges. If yours does, it may still be dirty or just need to be seasoned again.

I'm looking for one skillet power control for Rena Ware fry electric pan Cat. 17530

Rena Ware Electric Skillets use the same control as West Bend WB-1 . The back of the Rena Ware Control does say WB-1. Mine is 1500 watt.
You can find the WB-1 eBay for various prices. A generic heat control will probably work as well if it is the same wattage. I have a Saladmaster control that also works for this skillet.1_26_2012_12_42_14_am.jpg

Non sick finish coming off

I posted a comment on a solution?? but want to e-mail you too. Line the pan with heavy duty aluminum foil before frying food. It's better than having teflon flakes on your meat.

My 7 1/2 year old Thermador CVS36RB Cook 'n' Vent won't retract

sears labor is 137 plus parts. that is something that would need to be looked at. it could be a few different things. if he is handy he can open it up to see if anything is misaligned or broken. the vent may even just be a little crooked and once straight may go up and down like normal

Rival Electric Skillet S16G

Hi, Your skillet is either defective or someone has left it on high with nothing in it. Either way, if it is still under warrenty, I would try and return it. As there is some debate about the toxicity of teflon, I would be very careful about using this unit any further.

If you are going to keep the skillet, try using steel wool to remove the loose teflon, maybe even sanding it all off if you want, then polish with fine steel wool and use the skillet as a regular uncoated electric fry pan.

Hope this helps, and if you found this response satisfactory, please vote. Thanks and good luck.
