Question about Canon ImageRUNNER 330s Copier

Error E005 Help ! I have the same error E005 on my ImageRunner 330s. I have replaced the web cleaning roller and I still get that error when I start the machine. It tells me to turn the main power off and on. I do that but nothing changes. I have not been able to reset the counter on the solenoid or reset the error message because the error message is on the same screen that I need to punch in the * to get to the programming and I can't get it to go away. I thought that maybe i needed to reinstall the web cleaning roller again and I did that but still the same error. I am stuck. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Hold down the numbers 2 and 8 when you power up the device and you should start in safe mode. This will allow you to reset the error.

Let me know if this doesn't work and I can further assist you.

Thank you for using Fixya and Good Luck!

After much time I found that this may be what you need to do, let me know if it still doesn't help.

the first sensor on the front is blocked, you get a message to replace
web. If the second is blocked, you get E005. Neither one of those
should be blocked. Before you lower the top part, pull the sensor arm
away from the sensors and then lower the top and click it back in place.

The most likely cause of your problem is the connector on the DC
Controller for the second web sensor. The connectors on pcb's in that
model were prone to the terminals in the harness block stretching open
and breaking contact at random. The best cure is to gently tighten each
terminal for that connector with forceps and then use a contact
cleaner/enhancer before reattaching the cable. I don't remember off
hand which connector number it is, but I'll try to find out for you.

Try to reset it as below.
1. turn it off
2. remove the power supply contact.(make you remove the plug out from the socket).
3. Leave it for about 10 to 15 min.

Turn it on again.....

What does E005 mean?

The error code means that fuser cleaning web is about to run out or has run out. The fuser cleaning web cleans off the upper fuser roller (the hot one) and it also lubractes the roller. Most of the time when it runs out it starts to ruin the upper fuser roller. The best thing to do is to have the web replaced and the counter rest. If you just rest the counter, you may end up causing my damage to the fuser unit. Good Luck

Ir 405 copier code as displayed e005. but what is problem i am changed web roller but still e005

Error E005 means the fuser cleaner roller has run out & may need a replacement. If the error is false it will disappear by following the reset procedure. To clear this error code press * 2 and 8 * in that 2&8 are pressed simultaneously. Go to the web counter and clear the counter back to Zero (0). Machine will now restart your machine & error code will disappear. If this doesn't help then try clearing both web counters in service mode, COUNTER>MISC>FIX-WEB> and COUNTER>DRBL-1>FIX-WEB> perform a Error Clear in service mode FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR>. Hope this helps... Daniel

I get an error that says e005

I the fuser web has run out
First you must replace the fuser web and then the code or counter needs re-setting.
If you let me know the model number I can tell you how to do this as the procedure is differant from model to model

Thank You

There is nothing wrong with the solenoid. The fuse cleaning web is similar to a roll of paper towels. For each copy made the copier fires the solenoid, advancing the web roll slightly. You can override the error but that will damage the upper fuser roller since it won't be cleaned and lubed properly. You need to replace (or have replaced) the cleaning web and reset the web counter in service mode. I am not sure on that model but when you purchase the web, $15-20, they can tell you how to reset it. Good Luck.
