The top door is rusted out where the hinge fits. I want to patch it up to use in my shop. I tryed mounting some flat type door hinges but it don't work well

without knowing the refrigerator its a tough one, but refrigerator hinges are designed to allow the magnetic door seal to seal properly, flat door hinges typically not a good choice for this application
  • Either pop rivet some new metal plate to replace the rusted area and use existing hinge
  • try get replacement door from used refrigerator or refrigerator recycle place.
  • buy new/used fridge from kijiji :)

The gasket on the right hand French door is slightly torn, so I bought a replacement gasket. It's arrived, but I have no clue how to replace the gasket.

The gasket is easy to replace. Remove bins and shelves set them aside. Next at the top right hand corner remove the door trim cover pull it straight out and set it aside. Note the tabs on the inside of the trim are fragile. Peel back the gasket at the top forward edge and bottom frward edge and you will locate a hinge. Use a small screw driver to pop these hinges out. Pull out the gasket on that side first and the whole seal comes on out of there. The hinge slides out of the old seal. Just snap yer new back in. Do on door at a time. The trim pieces for each door are different. Snap your door trim back and check for propah opening and closing of door. Then party on!

Left door of the refer isn't closing properly, must manually feed it thru the little channel at the top for it to fold in and close

Hi,

check the door hinges a in place:
The door latch and lower hinge pin should hold your refrigerator door in place..
Uncover the door by removing the screws.Take the door off and pack bottom hinge with washers and make sure hinge brackets on cabinet are tight.
Check the seal is clean and pliable:
If seal is gapping, one solution is to warm with a hairdryer and pull outwards gently.
Check the refrigerator is properly leveled:
Adjust the middle hinge to straighten the lower portion of the door. Use a level to ensure the door is flush.

After fitting the door back again, check to see if the seal is touching on all sides when the door is closed. If not, you will need a new seal.Refrigerator is properly leveled.and hinges should be properly placed.

post a comment for further assistance.

Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

Door does not shut

Hello,
down at the bottom corner close to the henge side . watch it as you close the door . now if you have one of those screwdrivers that you change the bit in . and i think everyone has one . but that will fit on the nut head screw . loosen them up along the bottom and up bout half way up the side . then push the seal out from the corner then tighten them back up . now dont take those ****** all the way out .

Also note that
You may need to adjust the hinges, mainly the top hinge, look under the plastic plate there are usually three screws, they may be loose or they may need to be slid back.

Good luck

I just replaced my door seal on my refrigerator and now it won't seal on the lower left corner. I've checked all the hardware and everything looks good. I believe the door has been sprung. Is there...

First, try to use a hair dryer to see if it will seal that way. Then try to let it set all night without opening the door to seal it.

Secondly, look at the hinges to see if they are working properly.

We hope this answers your questions and solves your problem.
